I still can't believe it has the potential to reach that number when initially I considered merely passing the NES number of 66 million as a major milestone. Sadly though, I don't think it'll ever pass PS2, as it has been somewhat handcuffed by the lack of games both from third parties, and from Nintendo as well lately.. But it will still almost certainly pass the PS1, which is pretty incredible for a home console from Nintendo coming off the flop that is the Gamecube. |
Topping the PS2 is the DS's Job, Nintendo expects it to hit 98M end of march 2012, but safely thinking it will do at least 96M which I will be happy with.

The DS may pass it at some point, but I'll wait for the day a home console does it. That's gonna be crazy. As for your question, I think the site is pretty decent with 360, PS3, and Wii sales. I just don't think "we don't know what to do" is a good enough answer. If they know exact numbers for some territories and are spot on, put the extra sales somewhere else, and then adjust when you find out for sure.
Half this site seems to think DS passed it already, which is just a lie. It's just dumb.
