Seconded. Far Cry was the equivalent of a summer blockbuster: awesome for its time, but quickly wearing thin. Just three(?) years later, it looks just like your average shooter - just like Crysis will look average in a year or two.
And with the 360 and, to a lesser extent, the PS3 seeing a saturation of shooters, do we really need one more? Put a few on the Wii, the system that really needs 'em, for chrissake!
"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

No exact release date was given other than Ubisoft's fiscal year 2009 which runs from April 1, 2008 to March 31, 2009. source: http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/03/ubisoft-announces-far-cry-2-for-xbox-360-and-ps3/ |
Crysis selling bad? Link your source please, because Crysis is doing great so far:
Crysis (PC charts):
2nd placed November NPD for PC (25% over EA's expectations)
3rd placed in Japan in it's debut week
3rd placed in UK in it's debut week, and 3rd again in the following week, showing legs.
And then we have charts like Germany:
1 Crysis (PC)
2 Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)
3 Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PC)
4 Assassin's Creed (PS3)
5 Assassin's Creed (Xbox 360)
6 Crysis Collector's Edition (PC)
7 High School Musical: Sing it (PS2)
8 WWE Smackdown vs. RAW 2008 (PS2)
9 Unreal Tournament 3 (PC)
10 Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PS3)
Where Crysis has outsold everything easily, with Crysis' CE coming 6th placed. And that's without counting hardware bundles and EA's store.
"The game appreciated similar sales throughout Europe." is saying on wikipedia, relating to German's top charts and PC charts.
So where is it selling bad? Especially now that recently Crytek has announced Crysis to be a trilogy.

Third place in Japan for a PC game and it's a FPS, LOL.. Seriously why not just post the number of sales Crysis got in Japan so we can all have a good laugh.
Second place in November NPD for PC? Why not quote the number of units it sold?
Third place in UK? Ok numbers please...
Then there's Germany, one of the last bastions of PC dominance, no surprise it did well there, at least it has one minor market it's kicking ass in.
Anyways it's like this, remember how some third parties cry about HD games and claim that they need to sell a million or more just to break even? Well how do you think Crysis stacks up to that and the fact it pushes graphics even further... Seriously how many units has it sold Worldwide? Is it even at half a million? Numbers please.
What a surprise ... now when will we see a Crysis port ?
Vote the Mayor for Mayor!
@Legend
I believe it has not made 200k yet =/
2008 end of year predictions:
PS3: 22M
360: 25M
wii: 40M
Far Cry was awesome..
Cant wait for the second
@zackblue are you off your rockers?
How on earth can the PS3 and 360 (with their 2yr+ old technology) not be recieving a watered down version of Far Cry 2. A series renown for it's graphics.
Thats like asking a PS1 to play God of War 2, it just ain't going to happen.

Alright then, so the fact that The Witcher, which barelly even entered top10 PC games, was able to sell 1 million worldwide, doesn't mean anything, and now Crysis entered in pretty much EVERY top10 PC chart, is bad?
I don't have any numbers to back Crysis, but you don't have any too. However we know that Crysis is entering in alot of PC charts and that Crysis did 25% over expectations in US (90k)
So how can it be a flop? The only fact you base your arguement on is Crysis' NPD number, but even then Crysis did better than expected on a weak PC market. And, just so you know, Germany is a bigger PC market than the US (link) (link)
