I could have swore I saw something a few months ago that made it so you could play on multiple 360's without having to recover your gamer tag each time you switched 360's and without having to store your profile on a USB device.  Does anyone remember what I'm talking about?

I generally game on my 360 downstairs in my home office and The Wife and I use the upstairs one for Netflix mainly but each time I try to use one of the 360's after using the other I have to recover my gamer tag.  Is there some step I'm missing?

You can't. The only way you can use a gamertag that is already on another Xbox is if your offline, but if you want to be online you need to recover it. It can be a pain, but necessary.

Well you can always take your HD out and put it in the other X360...Possible that DLC/or arcade games don't work on the other one... You need a gamertag for netflix?

I know you mentioned a USB Flash Drive in the OP but that's really the way to go. Quick and painless. I have all of my game saves on a cheap ass 4GB drive and the results are nothing but positive.

That's cool about the update, that's news to me. I will say that the USB is the way to go as of now. As d21lewis said, quick and painless.

Yes, that should be with the Fall update. Seems like a good idea - your Gamertag is all you need to play, everywhere. And we should get Voice Search through Bing - and that I am really looking forward too.

It's not just about being lazy (voice search) it will also show you if a show is on Netflix, Hulu+ or Zune. And will be (hopefully) useful to some of my 'technically challenged' family.
