Forums - General - If you weren't a spammer, would you get noticed?

Okay the title isn't applicable to me (heck, maybe it is) but I was wondering if you didn't turbo-spam this site to death would you get noticed? I know there are many great users whos post are that of the highest quality, so I was wondering for mainly the newcomers (less than 1000 points) what do you need to do to gain notoriety in the void of awesome-o that is VGCHARTZ (Apart from spamming).

High post count was pretty much the only way i got anywhere, i can safely say. I'm still less well-known than many with post counts drastically lower than my own, or at least that's my assessment on the matter.

What worked for me was attaching myself to a well established female member as well as a known spammer. Then I proceeded to post intelligent and funnies to build my rep. Once I hit about 2000 points I felt comfortable spamming people's walls... So I kinda took a backwards approach to what one is apparently supposed to do to get big

A new breed of spam I see >.>

I think your my favorite newcomer of year, you did join this year right?

I mean its really getting harder and harder for newer members to find a avenue of social success here. I scrolling down the threads in the hot top and there is a user with around 500 posts *Insert Name here* and I'm thinking to myself "Who the **** is he/she"

Please, don't say that

Don't worry you'll always be in my top 3 users!

There are two ways to get noticed, by me at least. Spamming, and submitting posts that leaves an impression -good or bad.

Also. It helps if you're a girl.

To add to that loosely clothed women as your avatar or to up your chances barely wearing anything can drastically increase your profile views.

What others have said. Post quality posts, make quality threads, don't be boring, have an avatar and talk with other users on the site via their wall or personal messages.

Also if you have boobs or ass in your avatar or sig you are 10 times more likely to be noticed...but it's a superficial popularity so it doesn't really count.

A good avatar helps. Like the guy whose avatar has a girl holding the text 'he put it in my ass' or something. =D Not that I can actually remember his name... But who cares, I recognize him by his avatar.

@ yo_John: The lines of quality threads and spam has been severly blurred. For you having an avatar of Elle Goulding makes me Starry eye'd.

@Trash: Squirtle sucks! (Guess I made mortal enemies of you and my brother)

@Spurge: I wanna pull it off but it isn't gonna happen >.>
