Warm Bodies seems to be doing quite well. Not surprising.

Django Unchained is now over $200 million dollars overseas I think it will end up with $250+ overseas and $160+ domestically.
The Hobbit is now over $300 million dollars domestically probably needs a pretty decent showing in China to reach the billion dollar mark world wide.
Silver Linings Playbook is now over the $100 million mark domestically. It probably will take a few more weeks before Zero Dark Thirty will make it to that point, it also could fall short of that mark by a couple of millions by the time its done playing.
Identity Thief will be the first movie of 2013 to pass the $100 million dollar mark domestically.

Jack didn't do so good on its opening day it made less then $ 8 million. Identity Thief is now officially over $100 million dollars domestically. A Good Day really should be the last Die Hard movie but since its doing pretty good overseas I doubt it will be I'm guessing they make at least one more.
| spurgeonryan said: 195 million budget plus 100 million in marketing at least. It was every where! Surprised it did not do better. I liked the trailers. Should have released last weekend when there was nothing. Guess they were worried about Die Hard taking some of the sales. Last weekend gave kids days off..... Hopefully word of mouth gives it a smaller drop, but 195 million is a long ways off. |
Going by the trailers it really doesn't look like a movie that should have a $195 million dollars buget but then again looking at the trailer for John Carter doesn't make it look like a movie with a $250 million dollar budget either. Maybe the overseas numbers can help out Jack. I still believe that The Lone Rager will be this years biggest big budget box office bomb. It has a buget of $250 million dollars and I'm sure it also has a $100 million dollars plus marketing campaign with those numbers it has to do better then Django Unchained which I can't see it doing.
I forgot to mention it in my earlier post but I also agree with you that Jack should have been released a week earlier especially since it already has major competion next week with the release of The Great and Powerful OZ which actually looks pretty decent judging by the recent trailers. I have a feeling that it will do a lot better then Disney's other attempt at a OZ movie Return to OZ which kinda bombed at the box office and got slamed by most critics.
| spurgeonryan said: Return to Oz would have made a great Tv movie. I have a feeling "Olympus will fall" is going to be another Gerald Butler bomb. Trailers are confusing and it came out of nowhere. |
I kinda agree with you on "Olympus will Fall" trailer doesn't look that good plus in a couple of month we will get a similar movie with a better cast in "White House Down".
