I am psyched about "Cloud Atlas" and will see it as soon as can get everyone together to go in coming weeks.  Just hope it does not bomb and finding show times becomes a chore.

Looks like Cloud Atlas has decent legs so it should keep the theater count it has right now for a while.  I'm interested how it will do overseas but it has a very slow international roll out so its going to be a couple more weeks before there will be any number worth noticing.

Wreck-It Ralph had a decent opening day of $13.4 million but considering its budget $165 million and in how many theaters it opened 3,752 it could have did a better by a lot.

Well at least it costs $20 million less then Brave.  It will make a small profit at the box office it should be able to make around $400 million dollars world wide.

Well the majority of young people which is the target audience for most CGI movies live overseas.  Plus I can't really think of one mainstream CGI movie that was specifically made for the US (north american market) they are always made to a have a wide global appeal even if some of the jokes in them don't translate to well into other markets.

It's ok, no big deal, Wreck-it-Ralph almost made it to $50 m. i was hoping for $60 m
Not bad though.
Excellent Word of mouth will take this movie all the way till Christmas time.
I say it'll make more money than Tangled.

Flight did excellent as well at $25 m for the weekend but I don't think it'll have legs.

And The Man with the Iron Fist tanked with only $8 m.  Quenton Terrantino presents another weak movie.

But as you saw with my post above Iron fist only had a budget of 15 million.

Yes, but I was thinking that it might be comparable to Kill Bill.  This one will not make $70 m.

Argo dropped only by 15% this week.
I might have to go check this movie out.

That budget is unexcusable! Disney made it? Other than paying for all the actual video game characters there is no reason it was so high. Mid level actors, B+ story/B+ writers, and mediocre visuals. Its biggest problem is all the freaking marketing. Thing that willnsave it is merchandise and overseas as usual.

The last CGI cartoon movie Disney made is Tangled.  They spent $260 m for that movie, so $165 is not bad at all.

It'll be profitable.

Skyfall is at $287 m already. Get ready for a huge opening this friday
