I think that most people rely less on book critics compare to movie critics when it comes time to pick a new book.  But overall I agree that most movie critics are pretty bad.  This is probably mostly due to the fact that they only have to see a movie once in order to review it.  I'm pretty sure that most book critics are more thorough when it comes to their review and probably read certain sections of a book more then once.  And overall I'm pretty sure that most book critics are more knowlegable about literature in general compared to movie critics and the field of cinema.

The problem with movie critics today is that they have to high standards. While movies like Inception and Dark Knight are great in storytelling, visuells and so on critics dont realise that not every movie need those standards.
Not every movie need a good story, not every movie need outbreaking visuells or overhelming actor performances. I went into cinema to watch a movie to have 2 hours of fun. But critics see i it otherwise those days.

Ah I see, movie fans start to demand the same what gaming fans have already achieved: "Only 80s and 90s ratings, please".

Anything under $100 million actually isn't too big of a budget for a computer animated movie.  Brave had a budget of $185 million and Madagascar 3 had a budget of $145 million and so does Rise of the Guardians the next Dreamworks animated movie.

Speaking of animated movies Ice Age 4 is now at $699.5 million with its overseas total and guaranteed to go over $700 million. Also Taken 2 made more then twice as much money then the first one did domestically on its opening weekend I'm pretty sure a third movie is already in the pipeline.

Nice to see that Madagascar 3 is getting close to $500 million overseas so with a UK opening on the 19th it should reach $500 eventually.  Pixars Brave overseas box office looks pretty good now also its at $281 million at box office mojo it should finish over $350 million.  I know from a Youtube channel I subscribe that Loopers did pretty good overseas on its opening weekend but box office mojo still doesn't have any overseas numbers for it.  Also I didn't know that Warner Brothers had a studio in France interesting article.

Ted, still doing pretty good apparently, a lot better then expected.

It is, also very good numbers for a R rated movie looks like it still has a good change to make over $500 million world wide.  Biggest hit by Universal this year of the three remaining films released by them this year I think that This is 40 and Les Miserables will do good I'm not sure about The Man with the Iron Fist the trailer didn't impress me and I usually like martial arts movies.

I don't think they had too many the past couple of years overall they are doing pretty good.  Also going back to movie reviewers I prefer video reviews over written ones and I prefer panel and multiple person reviews over single person reviews.

Stop motion animation movies are for the most part a labor of love and not a proven cash cows when it comes to making money at the box office so I'm pretty sure no one at Disney though its going to make a ton of money.  Also they didn't go nuts with the budget either they spend $39 million compared to ParaNorman which had a budget of $83 million dollars both movies are going to make money eventually but I'm thinking Frankenweenie will do it first since it actually has a change of making a profit at the box office with a little help from foreign numbers.  Also like pretty much everyone I prefer my movies in color but once in a while its still nice to see a movie released in black and white and I don't think that Raging Bull, The Elephant Man and Schindlers List would have been any better if they would have been in color as a matter of fact black and white was actually a good choice and fit the movies considering the time period they took place in.
