Can Disney beat Universal's record 2015 domestic gross - $2.445 billion?

It will fall short of tha... 4 13.33%

Finding Dory, Doctor Stra... 20 66.67%

It's going to be very cl... 6 20.00%

Total:30

Dredd didn't open in too many theaters because it mostly showed in 3D theaters since it was shot in 3D. For a movie that got mostly positive reviews it should have did a lot better on its opening weekend.

So the Oogieloves tragic run at the domestic box office ended on the 20th of this month. Its total domestic gross is $1,065,907 on a $20 million dollar budget and things get even worse since apparently the movie also had a $40 million dollar marketing budget. I wonder where all that marketing money went to since I only saw two television adds for the movie on its opening week and none after that. It is now officially a legendary flop and the frontrunner for the biggest flop of the decade. It would have been nice if it would have made a little more money though since that would have led to nominations to a for a few razzies which it also deserves.

I'm pretty sure the people that backed this movie with a large finacial investment will stay anonymous forever it too much of an embarrasment to admit to back such a disaster.  Also since it had a $40 million dollar advertising bucket its actually a bigger bomb then Delgo.  No movie should have a advertising buget that is twice as big as the production buget unless its made on the cheap like with a production buget of less then $5 million dollar.

Suprisingly Delgo is available on Amazon on DVD and Blu-Ray and for rent (streaming) and download.

Of course it is! They will need to push that for years.

Anyone know when the next big movie is coming out? Summer movies were good this year but it did not feel like there was that much. Which was good for the summer movies that did come out.

Do you mean big big or decently big?

Hobbit if the former, perhaps Looper if the latter

Must see movies fore the rest of 2012.

 - Looper.  Great reviews and the excitement is there.

-Taken 2.  My wife loved the first one so we are planning to see this one next week.

-Trouble with the curve - cheap tuesday date with my wife next week.  I try to watch every Clint movie.

-Cloud Atlas.   I love these weird somewhat meaningless meaningful movies.

-*****Wreck it Ralph.  Most anticipated movie for this family for the rest of the year.

-Twilight - Just Kidding.

- The Hobbit.

two must see movies and 4 really good movies left

Well I think Flight, Skyfall, Life of Pi and Rise of the Guardians are big movies that haven't been mentioned yet and the all come out in November.

Looper only had a $30 million dollar budget so it will make money in no time.  Hotel Transylvania did better then I expected on its opening day also, most people seem to like it its at  a 7.1 on imdb.

According to the weekend estimates at box office mojo Hotel Transylvania made 43 million and Looper which came in second made $21.2 million I think both did better then expected. Also Ice Age 4 is now the highest grossing animated movie overseas with $690.8 million and it will make at least another $30 million overseas by the time it stops it box office run. 20th Century Fox will make even more money on animated features in the future since it has a five year deal with Dreamworks Animation to distribute their movies which starts next year.

I am thinking about watching Hotel Transilvania

Hotel Transylvania actually had the biggest opening for a movie in September. Also Won't Back Down kinda bombed. The Expendables 2 already made more then the first one since it made $201.5 million dollars overseas so far.
