Does anyone know TDKR fared in Greece and China

Around the Network

Well I'm glad The Expendables 2 and ParaNorman had pretty decent second weekend because both movies deserved better openings. Also it looks like their is a change for The Expendables 2 to get to $100 million domestically like the first movie did. Their is definitely nothing coming out in the next two weeks that should hurt its box office numbers in a major way.

This weekends domestic box office winner was the lowest gross since New Years Eve won the weekend of December 9-11 with $13,019,180 million.

Dark Knight Rises set new opening day record in China for Warner Bros ($4.45 Million)

Amazing Spider-Man took in 5.5 million first day in China whereas TDKR took only 4.5 million on the same day

Around the Network

The movie could become a legendary flop unless it makes at least $5 million dollars at the box office.  So far after two days it only made $225,588.  Which is good for all the other movies that floped so far this year at least none of them have achieved legendary status yet.  Also pretty much everyone is going to get fired since the company that developed and distributed the movie Kenn Viselman Presents is pretty much guranteed to go out of business.  If it would have been a direct to video movie with a $500,000 dollar budget it probably would have been a decent to good idea but instead its a theatrical release with a $20 million dollar budget that looks like it will become a legendary flop.

And Avengers did what?

The Avengers opened on satruday and took in 1.1 million in China first day. So TDKR and Amazing Spider-Man destroyed that 1st day total. However he Avengers still somehow made $84 million there LT....

TDKR is still going fairly strong. TDK just barely eaked out 1 billions dollars. So TDKR should slam past that by a good amount.

Yup so TDKR should end up passing Pirates of Carribean: Dead Man's Chest and taking in 7th place WW but it doesn't seem like it can beat Transformers 3 or the Return of the King at this moment unless it gets $100 million from China and Italy

Ok, so there's nothing really to worry about. 1b soon!

But Avengers took in about 17 million the second day in China making the two day debut at around 18 million. However TDKR opened ona monday and Avengers on a saturday so we'll just have to see how this weekend goes to truly compare both films.

Box Office Report: 'Possession' Strong Labor Day Player, Tops Friday With $6.1 Mil

"Lawless" comes in No. 2 with $2.8 million; new kids pic "The Oggieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure" tanking as the final weekend of summer gets underway.

The Sam Raimi-produced The Possession could score one of the top Labor Day weekend openings of all time if traffic holds.

Lionsgate's horror pic -- directed by Ole Bornedal and inspired by films including The Exorcist -- topped the Friday chart, grossing $6.1 million for a possible four-day cume of $20 million.

Halloween is the top Labor Day opener of all time, opening to $30.6 million in 2007; Transporter 2  is No. 2, grossing $20.1 million in 2005.

Possession stars Kyra Sedgwick, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Natasha Calis.

Overall box office revenues will still be down from last year because of the The Help, which turned into a box office hit after opening in mid-August 2011.

John Hillcoat's Prohibition-era drama Lawless, which opened Wednesday, is holding safely at No. 2, grossing $2.8 million on Friday for a projected four-day gross of $12.4 million. That would put the film's six-day cume at between $14 million and $15 million.

Lawless, from The Weinstein Co., stars Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf, Jessica Chastain, Jason Clarke, Guy Pearce and Mia Wasikowska.

Anti-Barack Obama documentary 2016: Obama's America continues to do strong business and should finish the Labor Day holiday with a domestic total of nearly $20 million.

Kids entry The Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure also opened Wednesday but to continues to fare dismally, coming in No. 24 on Friday with a gross under $100,000 from 2,160 theaters. The pic's six-day opening may only be $1.3 million, marking one of the worst openings of all time for a film playing in that number of theaters.

Summer hits The Avengers, Brave and Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted are all upping their theater counts this weekend, hoping for a final burst of summer business.

Reminds me of Delgo. Who made the decision to put that kindgergarten movie at the most on that many theater screens? Dumb!

The Avengers got a screen raise!

Any movie that has budget of $20 million or more pretty much has to open in 2000+ theaters if it plans to actually make money at the box office.  As much as The Oogieloves is going to fail it can't approach Delgo's level of failure.  Delgo had a budget of $40 million and only made $915,840 world wide and if those numbers are acurate is was a even bigger failure overseas then domestically, since box office mojo only has its domestic numbers of $694,782 and it only lasted seven days in theaters.
