People are making fun on the new add on but in the end we mostly care about games. At the end of the year in Japan the 3DS will have a new Inzuma Eleven, Monster Hunter, Mario Kart and Super Mario 3D Land and maybe more. Hopefully Nintendo will be quick and bring out (Monster Hunter and Inzuma Eleven) in NA and Europe in 2012.

While I think the new add on was incredibly short sighted and in general fucking stupid on Nintendo's behalf, you have IMO hit the nail on the head. Software is in the end the most important factor in a system's success, and in that respect I very very happy with the 3DS for the next 6-12 months.

For the rest of the year alone, out of the games with European release dates announced I will get MK7, SM3DLand and Tales of the Abyss 3D, all on day 1.

There are a good number of minor titles as well, The Dragon Quest spinoff, the MGS3 port, New Love Plus, and the Ace Combat game should all do fairly well at least. I'm probably forgetting a couple and there is a good chance.some more will be announced at the conference. It will a big end of the year for the 3DS.

People need a reason to laugh at Nintendo. Wii faded as a fad, so... don't ruin the fun.

Nintendo do that, just off the top of the head (I just used wikipedia to check if I got the year right) I can name a new IP from Nintendo for every of the last 15 years, with the exception of 2004 (the best I can come up with is Pictochat), so no-one would get fired.

It looks too similar to the Wii one. Hopefully at least 10 new monster will be included as well as some from 3rd Portable.

That add on C-stick for the 3DS might not be such a bad idea if it extends the battery life as well. At least now we know why MGS3 was delayed.
