Amazon is probably just increasing the price because it's in short supply. And Japan has always paid more than America for video games in general.

:edit: Well as I said in the OP Japan goes crazy for limited edition bundles, even if its for western games. So the Gears bundle being sold out isn't that surprising. Although keep in mind, MS probably aren't shipping that many to Japan anyway. There was only about 5k of the Reach bundle in Japan.

Yes it did. I guess Amazon is reselling. Bic Camera has the Gears of War bundle sold out, too.

gonna have to go with gears when measuring boost according to the consoles previous weeks sales, factors that crossed my mind

tales launch is i think only 2 days of vgc data

i think gears will be in data for longer and in all regions, i believe gears will impact HW in all 3 regions, where as tales week will only have a big JP surge i doubt resistance3 will impact the other two regions as much as gears

tales bundle supply is unknown, i believe the same happened with gt5 it was doing bout 20-30k weekly and many including myself believed that gt5 launch along with its bundle would bring it up over 100k accourding to past bundles but it did around 60k

So the ToX bundle gave the PS3 just over a 30k boost then? Last week it was 33k and this week it's 64k. That's a nice boost for the PS3 in Japan, but I don't think it will be enough against the Gears 3 bundle boost.

Xillia will be impressive in Japan in boosting hardware, but When Gears releases Im fairly confident that Gears will boost hardware by very large margins. I will also say that I don't think this will be very close when comparing. I don't think Gears will win over Huge compared to Xillia, but i think it will be decisively. Just my own personal opinion.

Gears simply based on the amount of advertising and how well the game and Gears bundle seem to be tracking (even though I think the bundle is overpriced and should be at least $50-$75 cheaper).
