Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo DS to top 175mil?

If nintendo DS will have a longevity of the GBA  could it top 175mil lifetime?

GBA was still selling more than 20k units a week after two years from first DS on the Market and DS has more and graeter software out.

It would need to do 30 mil. more for that to happen.
Seems a bit much, even when considering the fact 3DS is taking off very slowly.

160 LT seems to be practically guaranteed at this point, but I'm not sure about how much more than that it can sell.
even 50k a week, every week for two years is only 5 mil units.

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

normally i'd say yes but with the 3DS already basically the same price as the DS ... i'll give it a definite maybe.

I doubt it can reach it now, not unless there is more price cutting this year and it has a huge holiday.

Let's get to 155M first!

It could do, provided Nintendo drop the price as time goes on, and possibly introduce a Nintendo Selects range for the machine?? That being said, there should be plenty of smaller titles and licensed titles hitting DS in the next couple of years, it's momentum shouldn't drop too sharply. I'd say 170m lifetime is a good bet, less sure on the 175m.
