Do u believe rumours of a new model with new name

I don't believe it. A new hardware version now would do more harm than good. It'll be new software announcements, possibly Pokemon or perhaps even Monster Hunter.

I was thinking about this topic. What if they will anounce a "third pillar", like they did with the ds and the game boy advance. it can be call the super nintendo ds or the Nintendo DS advance and without the 3d function and 3d cameras sell it for 100-130 dollars. I am not against the idea if the only diference is the lack of 3d, and if you think about it "product anouncement" make more sense to hardware than software to me. but the only way I see this working, is to discontinue the Dsi and Dsi XL line and market the 3ds and the new model for 120 and 170 US$ respectively. That way they can bring people who likes the 3d and people who doesn't like the 3d and doesn't want to pay for it, or people that are afraid of the damage that 3d could do to their eyes.

The rumours are getting stronger. Soon we'll know. Very glad I decided not to get a 3DS right away.

I don't think Nintendo is stupid enough to cut price into unprofitable levels just to completely counteract it a month later despite a fairly successful result. Unless the launch of this apparent redesign is immediate or at least before the holidays, I can't fathom why its announcement couldn't wait for 2012.

Why would they announce a redesign before Christmas? They're obviously going to sell tonnes of units during the winter, so why risk lowering that?

I'm hoping it's a downloadable update that adds a lot of cool features. A hardware redesign would be stupid.
