“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Are you kidding? NTDOY is a long term investment dude. Wut price did u pay for the shares?
Im going to hold mine for 2 or 3 years atleast, because even if the 3DS isn't a success, a Nintendo mobile device is bound to be produced, and I wouldn't bet against that, especially in a market thats moving on to Android devices, and away from this IPhone cult.
The dividends are impressive too, so theres that bit of comfort for the time being.

I don't think they know it exists yet, nor do they realise the absolutely detrimental effect of a one analog stick console on the global market (see im being ironic here).
Besides I really think having Monster Hunter on a Nintendo handheld for Christmas is much bigger news, both for japan, and ntdoy since theres a direct correlation between the two parcels.

The only reason Japanese stocks didn't rise higher is that their new Prime Minister prefers tax increases to spending cuts.
Like in Bank of America's case. After eveyrone found out Buffet bought it, the stock surged and he made a ton. I can only imagine what will happen on the sad day warren buffet has to step down. |
Isn't he also known as the guy who said, "tax us, we have too much money"?

Yep. Funny enough, i saw an article that suggested that 50% of the rich people he was talking about agreed with him.
Yet they aren't donating money to the government.
I think it has to do with the "Common good" line... as in giving more money to government doesn't help the common good. Heck, when asked why Buffet doesn't pay more in taxes his arguement was he could find more efficent uses to help people with his money.
That 50% is probably doing more with that money donating it then the government would do with double the money.

well, I doubt that, because charities are scams. Charities are just ways to make people feel good about themselves. What they really should do is combine their money and hire fifty thousand people to build a national railway.
