It's a fully priced late port of a sequal to a story driven game that we never got.

Read that above sentence again and tell me you think something like that will sell but loads.

I didn't think nor say that ME2 will sell butt-loads because I already knew that. I only expected it to sell better because of how good the game is. Do you think having a dirt cheap ME2 will help the ME franchise grow on the PS3, especially when ME3 comes out?

Because the demo was enough, couldn't find what so special about it to be honest, good gameplay , good graphics, average animations and terrible facial animations , typical space solder story with an interesting way to tell it by letting you choose.
I didn't find the concept interesting at all, I liked Dragon age: origins much more even based only on the demo.

Using a demo of ME to guage the actual game is like using a driving experience in a mini to guage the experience of an F1 car.

There isnt an ounce of chance any demo for ME could remotely show you why the experience of ME is one of the most accomplished games this generation.

I already bought in for PC a year before it came out :(

It cost too much, the EA store and Steam basically gave this game away at the start of 2011. ME2 is also available on the PSN so sales figures might be skewed a bit. I think ME2 will do similar to Demons Souls sales on the PS3 just enough to justify the reason for it being ported onto the PS3, and it's not like it did gangbusters on the 360 either.

I am happy with 500k worldwide ltd, not bad if you consider it was a year late, and it cost 2x as much as it currently does on the pc and 360.

I bought this game yesterday, and I've already put 11 hours in it. This is the first time I've played a video game for over 6 hours in one sitting because I usually can't manage to game for more than 2 hours, but the game is so damn interesting! The characters, story and overall presentation of this game is amazing and it is quickly climbing up to my favorite game this generation; it saddens me that ME2 sold only half a million on the PS3. I understand that the game was a year old port, but I still think it deserves more. Plus, pre-orders for ME3 on the PS3 aren't looking to promising either. The only downside I've found so far is that you have to install the game, the latest patch, AND the DLC included with the new copy before you play. These installations end up taking an hour!

So PS3 owners, why haven't you bought ME2? Is it because you're not interested in WRPGs? Or have you not been "hyped" enough towards this game? Do you have other reasons?

Mass Effect 2 was a great game, but the greatest thing about Mass Effect is the impact your long-term decisions have from one game to the next. ME1 had a WAY better storyline than ME2, and as such it makes the 360 or PC versions much better choices to buy, since you can play the first and then continue to use that save. And there's a big divergence between people who like shooters and people who like RPGs. ME as a franchise deserves higher sales due to it's quality, but being an RPG/Shooter hybrid has as much chance of turning people off as bringing people in. I almost didn't try the first ME because it was an RPG, and it wasn't until it started receiving universal accolades and I started getting told by friends that I *had* to play it, that I even gave it a chance. And had I been a ps3 only owner, I'd probably have never played it even today.

This site has it at 540K sales, while the 360 version's at 2.5M. Little over 20% of the 360's sales. For what it is, I think it didn't impressive, honestly. I myself was interested until I read it would be full price.

4 ≈ One

I didn't buy it but I do have the Platinum. I bought the X360 verison and a friend of mine Game shared the PSN copy of ME2 on PSN and I just borrowed it off of him when he finished.

I loved the Shadow Broker DLC but the frame rate of the 360 copy seemed so much smoother to me.

I have it on PC.............
