No, I feel offended by what you've said, you're saying you can't understand the British accent, which is dumb and you said we slur words together when we clearly don't, especially not those you see in the films, they're all southeners who have posh accents and use words properly unless they're using slang, which still isn't slurring words together, that's what the Americans do, not to mention the umm... you know, when you umm... do that thing when you umm... have to umm... pause before you can umm... think of what you're umm... going to umm... say, I've heard that so many times when there's interviews with Americans or whatever, it's so funny how you can comment on an accent, saying you don't understand it, and then not realise how dumb most American commoners sound... and I love how you assume "most" would probably have a difficult time understanding what was being said...

 

It really annoys me how people (The majority I know of seem to be Americans too... ) think of British people as if we're a whole different species or something, and even go as far as to insult us, based on popular American cartoons (Such as Nigel from Family Guy...), yet they've never even stepped foot in England, which is a good thing, because if they did their fat weight would probably tip us over... derp, stereotype, right? -.-"

Bristow i love you. Im a brit and i watch family guy on BBC 3 (BTW the BBC kicks ass and FOX sucks) what they do and say on family guy is nothing like what you see in england. The only excuse an american can have for not understanding a film is if it has a liverpudlian accent which i too follow to stuggle. Lol at the fat joke :) I dont mind americans in fact i like the people except for theyre "we are better than you attitude towards all things" and how the country is just too damn powerful for its own good.

Beautiful Landscapes and that's about the only thing I've got.  I did have a professor who was from NZ and she was really cool.  (sexy too)  Accents are very similar to Australians' imo.

Brother, no offense intended, but the Brits (Englishmen especially) invented and perfected the "better than you" attitude.  We're just trying to keep up.   I'll grant you Americans are very arrogant; however, the last people who should condemn us for that, are the British.

Noted (i am english) and i do admit that in the past we have been very arrogant especially withe the empire and all but nowadays we arent like that in fact we didnt big ourselves up in the war even though we completed the whole thing whereas america (granted you saved our asses) came in at the end and then proclaimed your heroicness from the rooftops.   BTW im talking about  modern america/britain when i say im offended because i wasnt around in the past when we were arrogent.

I'm not even referring to the past and certainly not the Wars.  I've been to London and I have a couple of buddies from England who live here.  Awesome fellas but arrogance isn't a stereotype with almost every Englishman I've known; it's a rule that there are some exceptions to.   I'm not saying it's, necessarily, a bad thing because arrogance is something that is (ideally) earned.

On the other hand, I do tend to gravitate towards people with strong personalities so my personal test group may be tainted.  Haha.

I don't know why Americans are so vocal about our part in the war other than the fact that it was the last time we had a decisive victory over a known and clearcut evil.  But we do know that it was Britain that did the lion's share of the work there.  But let's not talk about the WW's it never leads anywhere good.
