Lol Got beaten. Tsk tsk..

Decent boost for the PS3 next week will be interesting.

As for Neptunia I think it beat the FW of the first one by a quite a margin. Happy.

3DS remarkable 2nd week!!

Hyperdimension Neptune did 24K FW. With MkII at 33K the series is only up 38%. When I saw the 44K in the Japan preview I was SO hopeful for that 100% increase... Now I'm dejected.

Hey guys... that a post-Obon festival... sales of all hardware are down and the PS3 had a 50% boost in sales... GREAT.

Good for ps3, amazing for 3DS, ps3 will boost much more with MHP3HD e New Tales. Great PSP, 18kk.

Next week should be up a little bit for PS3 but those of you expecting a huge bump from MHP3 HD are going to be dissapointed its only got about 90,000 preorders and week one: final preorders is typically a 3:2 or 5:3 ratio for this type of game. The game had over 1m preorders on PSP and over 300k preorders on Wii - so the lift will be an order of magnitude smaller than the 70k Wii lift and 200k PSP lift.

I also agree with the frontloaded argument in Japan for price cuts - PS3 probably would have done 25k for the 8/27 week in Japan without Monster Hunter. With Monster Hunter, you're looking at 35k - 45k realistically, and then a drop off to fairly 'normal' PS3 numbers prior to Xillia in September.

PS3 sold 1.25m in Japan from August 29 2009 to January 2 2010 - hard to see it getting particularly close to that level in 2011, with no Slim, Final Fantasy being a sequel and not the first entry, and a lesser price drop and lower baseline level of sales likely heading into late November

Wow! The Japan Preview in VGChartz is one BIG joke! Marvelous 2nd week for 3DS and GO RHYTHM HEAVEN!

It was pretty spot on this week, surprisingly.

Preview:

"1) Rhythm Heaven (Wii) - 52,000"

" Its not out of the question that PS3 sales will only be around 25,000-30,000 units this week, 25-40% above its pre-Obon sales, especially since many will simply wait until Monster Hunter releases next week. "

"After selling around 100,000 units next week, 3DS should begin to decline much more slowly, and settle at anywhere between 40,000 - 80,000 units per week until major titles and / or late November arrive at which point 3DS sales will sky-rocket again."

-Unless he meant the week after August 21st

What do you expect from Xillia in terms of hardware boost? Is the PS3 Xillia bundle hot? I know Sony announced that the Xillia bundle would also benefit from the price cut so I'd think a lot of people are waiting for it to buy a PS3.

A broken clock is right twice per day actually. :)

If it's completely broken that is.But if it's broken as in late/ahead,it can't be possible.
