Forums - Sales - which will sell more in lifetime sales Super smash brawl or mario kart wii?

mario kart will outsell brawl

my wife and my sis-in-law love mario kart; only game they'd play on gamecube

they won't likely play brawl

wii is reaching more casual gamers than cube did...cube sold mostly to hardcore nintendo fans, who were more likely than average person to pick up brawl

wii will sell 100s of millions of consoles, most to casuals, not hardcore nintendo fans...those fans will be more likely to pick up mk than brawl

also, i think your numbers are all low

when wii has sold 200mil+, how is it only gonna sell 15 million mario karts?

Bets:Missed by 420k I bet leo-j vg$500 that wii will sell 31 million by 7/31/08.  Sorry, I don't think he has enough vg$ to make it with all of u that wish you could. Hit, with room to spare I bet kingofwale a 1-week ban that wii Americas ltd sales>360 Americas ltd sales as of the numbers for week ending 7/05/08 (using vgchartz homepage #s)

Predictions:

Wii will sell 18-20mil by 12/31/07  CHECKWii will sell 45mil+ WW by 12/31/08Wii will surpass PS2 sales WW by 11/17/11 (5yr anniversary)Wii Fit will hit 12mil sales in 2009MKWii+SSBB+Wii Fit+SMG > 50 mil sales by 2010 > gta4+mgs+gt5+ff13+haze+lbp

Has to be Mario Kart (if it's any good). It's a much more casual game and appeals to everyone (apart from the most die hard graphic/FPS addict). Plus 12 player online would broaden its appeal even further.

Im going to say Mario Kart - many times when I see SSBM played, its with a large group of people sitting infront of one TV, so that could mean less copies of the game sold initially (which isnt to say it will sell poorly by any stretch of the imagination) I think overall it may come close to mario kart, but in the end it will be mario kart atop the hill of destiny.

I would say that if Nintendo makes you drive in MK using the motion sensor, then MK will lose miserably.

The Wiimote's motion sensing is essentially identical to the SIXAXIS's motion sensing. The only difference is that the Wiimote has a pointing device facilitated by the infrared sensor bar. Other than that, the Wiimote uses the same technique as the SIXAXIS - meaning accelerometers, which are notoriously slow and touchy compared to joysticks.
I have tried driving vehicles in Moterstorm using the motion sensor, and I have tried flying aircraft in Warhawk using the motion sensor. In both cases, I do absolutely pathetic compared to when I use the joysticks. In Moterstorm, using a joystick, I once got first place 83 seconds before the second place dude came across the finish line. Using the motion sensor, the best I ever did was 1st place by .08 sec in the easiest track. (meaning I only got it by pure luck...) Don't even make me tell you how much I sucked at Warhawk using the motion sensor....

What I am saying is that driving vehicles using today's motion sensors is very difficult. If MK allows you to drive with the Nunchuck's joystick, it will win. Otherwise, SSBB will simply DESTROY all memories of Wii Mario Kart.

You're talking like a hardcore gamer. It won't be like that.

Using the motion sensor to drive in Mk is exactly the kind of thing that  gives an advantage in the market.

Is a lot easier to someone who is not used to play videogames to use the wiimote motion sensor instead of the analog stick.

The games you mentioned received bad critics about the motion sensor using.

Not to mention that Nintendo is good developing gameplay.

Mario Kart, no doubt!

Humbug.

First, Nintendo has already confirmed that MK Wii will be controlled by motion sensing.

Second, if ALL drivers use motion controls, it's fair (unlike Motorstorm or Warhawk). The point of motion controls is NOT making a game easier. The point is providing a more immersive way of steering. Sure, driving straight ahead is easier with a joystick: Just do nothing! Does that mean accelerometer based controls are inferior, because you have to actually do something to keep on track? Of course not! Hey, playing Virtua Tennis is more difficult than Pong!

Currently playing: NSMB (Wii)

Waiting for: Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii), The Last Story (Wii), Golden Sun (DS), Portal 2 (Wii? or OSX), Metroid: Other M (Wii),
... and of course Zelda (Wii)

That is such a hard prediction to say for sure they should b close look at double dash and SSBM to see what i mean.

"Like you know"

Did you just compare the Wii remote to the SIXAXIS? Saying they are the same only Wii has a pointer?

What a troll, have you played a Wii?

The Wii remote is far more advanced then the SIXAXIS.

How would NOT using motion sensor for Mario Kart make it sell less? It's a selling point, and I for one think it is a joy to steer with the Wii remote (in other games), and so will 10 million plus other Wii owners when they buy Mario Kart.

Easy guys. Can you only steer Mario Kart Wii with motions controls(Important question)?
