In NY I felt it though I thought it was my ferret shaking my bed, but then I heard it was an earthquake who knew..

I remember my first earthquake October 17 1989
Being only 5 and a half I wasn't that scared and didn't thin much of it other than the power going out and it taking a long time to get through San Francisco. It wasn't until years latter than I learned how much was destroyed.

I was driving and listening to music. I didn't even feel anything in NE NC

This was my 2nd earthquake, first was in Mexico and that one had after shocks.

I was at the IBM Almaden Research Centre at that time. The epicentre of that earthquake turned out to be under the hill next to the research centre..

Thank you I was not sure that was what it was. I live in Central Ohio, and for seven or eight seconds I felt shaking. Oh that was cool though. For a moment I thought it was a home appliance. Until I found that none of them that were able to shake were running. I was going to right it off as some fluke of traffic, or some kind of gas pocket. I live in a area with a lot of oil wells.

was at the beach when i felt it it was like 30 sec long thought someone was playing a joke on me and shaking my beach chair everyone was going crazy calling on there phones, yelling get out of the water, and leaving the beach scared a tsunami would come or that the sand would break open swallowing em. i was kinda stoked it was a slow day with the waves if it kept up i would of been able to hang 10 some more, but it was just a tremor didnt really affect the waves
