Forums - Sales - Worldwide up! (13th August 2011)

Japan:

Wow @3DS, but also @ all the others, growing WoW despite 3DS grabbing the spotlight.

WW:

3DS first as expected, with an excellent boost also compared to the meh sales before the cut announcement, not just the horrible ones between announcement and actual cut. The only negative thing is the strong bias towards Japan sales, but Japan had more weeks from cut to end of week, and outside of Japan people have got more holidays and around 15th August there's the peak of people away from home in vacation.

PS3 best of the rest, while Japan sales allow Wii to stay ahead of XB360.

Yay, good hardware sales, it's nice to see. Now to wait for PS3 price-cut and all is good again.

3DS will sell better next week in Americas and EMEAA and worse in Japan IMO.

Honestly, 3DS did well but I'm still not sold on this. Most of the boost seems to be in Japan, and you know that should plummet next week. In Europe it is only 16k over PSP, and I bet it'll be close next week. In America I really don't know. Can't wait till next week.

@CGI-Quality

Well MS gets some credit for Gears they helped fund it so that's another one for them. And you don't have to be so defensive of Sony man I really enjoy their games and buy every 1st party game on day 1. It doesn't change the fact this year Sony 1st party is not doing very well at all. Socom, LBP2, and now Infamous have all posted low numbers. The game is only 10 weeks old and only did 15k WW. That is poor. KZ3 even has only been a moderate success. Sony quite simply has too many 1st party games releasing and its splitting their demographic of hardcore supporters. Its hard to generate a ton of hype around them because theres so many different ones. Your about to see the same thing with Resistance. A poor performance, and you would've from Twisted Metal as well had it not been delayed. Uncharted will probably be the only game from Sony 1st party this year to outsell its predecessor by a good amount. Which again sucks because Sony's 1st party games have all ben excellent this year besides Socom.

I really wouldn't advise CGI on not being defensive about Sony, that's just his thing. Anyway I agree, Infamous has kinda dropped off the map.

OT: Reach is doing really well!

It makes me happy to see 360 outselling PS3 in America.

Sorry for bad English.

I bet 3DS sales in Europe and America will be up again. It won't be close to PSP sales, lol.

Bet on >3:1 in America and in Europe, and >2:1 in Japan.

Don't worry. The 3DS will be over 100k in both Europe and America next week, while Japan will be sitting at or above ~70k. I'll bet you anything on that.

Oh wait, did this weeks numbers only cover like a day of the price cut sales?  That would explain the numbers going up again next week.

congrats to the 3ds, i think it will see constant good to great sales for the remaining of the year. the ps3 will be a steady seller through out the rest of the year as well. i think the 360 will win the holiday though, with the 3ds right behind it. i think its :
1. 360
2. 3ds
3. ps3
4. wii ( unless it gets another price drop, could take 2nd if it hits $99 before black friday )

3DS Price cut was on the 12th outside of Japan, so yes.
