Seeing the 3DS bounce back like this makes me question whether or not Sony delaying Vita for NA and EU until 2012 was a good idea.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

I think the 360 is doing pretty good considering it's the only system this year to not have a price cut. It's also gone the longest out of all the systems without having a price cut. Image if the 360 had a $50-$100(preferably $100) price cut this year it would sell like crazy.

PS3 hasn't had its price cut reflected in the data yet.

I wasn't exactly talking about this weeks data, but in general. The positioning should be the identical next week.

Wow! Great numbers for 3DS in Japan.

Even still thats a poor performance, even if it is available online. If this game doesn't clear more than 2 million that's honestly sad.

I agree, it's a good game, but I wouldn't consider it a must-have. Most critics seem to believe it wasn't as good as the first one was when it released, and apparently, consumers must feel the same.

As for Sony not creating mega franchises. I would consider 5m from Uncharted to be mega (only 1m less than Gears did)

who are these critics?? Infamous 2 is better than 1 in every way possible. More powers, more enemy variety, melee fighting is actually useful in this one, the enemies dont outrun walking backwards, better visuals, more fluid movement. Even Zeke is better this time out. Kuo presence alone makes it better

I'm basing this off of it's Metacritic. Last time I checked, it was 4 points lower than the first one. That leads me to believe most critics believes it was a worse game than the first one. I'm guessing some consumers may feel the same.

critics are messed up in so many ways man...that's why I don't give a crap about them anymore

trust me the game is FANTASTIC! it's easily much better and fun than the previous game..the ONLY complaint I have is the good ending which was weak compared to the evil one which was badass! LOVED the game and I've seen a lot of fans say the same..especially the new powers

and the game is doing better than the first in sales..Not sure what Benv is going on about. I mean it's all about perspective....the genre the game is in, the type of game it is..makes it less appealing to the majority. Not like MS were able to make crackdown sell gangbusters....C2 has yet to crack one mill even I think. So it's understandable the game won't sell a huge amount..but it will pass the first game easily.

so what I'm trying to say is...don't give a rats ass about metacritic...the whole system is just wrong

Great numbers for the 3DS, i got one last weekend and really like it. Zelda and SF4 are awesome. That will tie me over until the other games come out in next few months.

It will be interesting to see the UK PS3 numbers for next week as based on the live charts (on amazon uk) it doesn't seem to have changed much. The 3ds is 2nd and 3rd in the current live chart while the 360 250gb is 19th. The xbox with Kinect is 28th. Wii is 30th. And the the PS3 160gb is 49th. Is similar on Play and HMV. Maybe it got less of a price drop here or something?

The score is lower but the critics said it's a better game... just the score receive a new critic strandard.

It doesn't change the fact this year Sony 1st party is not doing very well at all. Socom, LBP2, and now Infamous have all posted low numbers. The game is only 10 weeks old and only did 15k WW. That is poor. KZ3 even has only been a moderate success. Sony quite simply has too many 1st party games releasing and its splitting their demographic of hardcore supporters. Its hard to generate a ton of hype around them because theres so many different ones. Your about to see the same thing with Resistance.

Most of the games released this year have reasons for posting 'disappointing numbers'

SOCOM 4: It was a bad game

inFamous: It was seen as a stepdown by critics. Some felt it was better, but the majority thought it was an inferior product. Even some users on here thought it was worse than the first one with some labeling it too much like a movie instead of a comic book. Even with all that, this may be tracking above inFamous 1 with DD.

Killzone 3: I and nearly most other hardcore KZ2 felt this game was disappointing. The game managed to attact a lot of new customers, but a lot of the core skipped on the game, which is understandable. If KZ3 had satisfied the core, then it would have a lot more sales. Remember the PSN outage? KZ3's legs plummeted during then and they never recovered. If PSN never went down, KZ3 total sales would be higher, not much, maybe 100k at the most. Even with all that, the game is practically on par with KZ2 in terms of sales. It will pass KZ2 in a few weeks.

LBP2: I'll give you this one. The game won't reach LB1 sales. I can blame this on LBP1's heavy bundling and holiday release. A few weeks ago, LBP1 actually outsold LBP2. That was pretty weird. I guess people don't see LBP2 as being a big enough improvement over the first. I don't know. If it has legs & bundles like LBP1, then it should reach 3 - 3.5m.

Resistance 3: I don't know what's going to happen with this one.

Well that's what I meant. InFamous 1 was better in 2009 than inFamous 2 in 2011.... Or something like that. I don't agree, but that's how they feel.

Its amazing how the PSP is 2nd in sales for Japan. Im just surprised at how well it does in that region.
