I agree with prett much everything you said, ecspecially about ending the drug war (I don't know if I would fully legalize them though). As for your last part its sad but true. I think this measure would make me less angry if it wasn't a clear vote pandering by Obama.

Actually my family has been here since befoe the revolution. Not that its relevant, I have no problem with legal immigration.

I also like that people are ingoring that illegal immigration, as bad as it is for America, is exponentially worse for Mexico. In misguided attempts to help people supporters of illegal immigration have done massive damage to Mexico.

I said "drastically reduce" not "eliminate" the military. Yes, the U.S. has enemies, but nothing on the scale that would justify the current size of the U.S. military. This is not World War II or even the Cold War era. There is no logic behind the U.S. military bases scattered across the globe except to, as you pointed out, create more enemies.

Your opinion on porn actors is a generalization which is beside the point. Porn actors can, if abused by co-stars or other staff, report the problem to the authorities. Prostitution is different. I don't think anyone would argue that legalization of prostitution would make the practice less safe. Just look at how Nevada brothels have operated with strict safety requirements including: frequent medical checks, isolating the act to a safe environment for the prostitutes themselves, and mandatory condom use. If you care about the welfare of prostitutes then legalization would be a godsend for those who are hounded by pimps, receiving poor medical treatment while practicing unsafe sex, and are violently assaulted with no recourse. Whether or not one should even become a prostitute or porn star in the first place is irrelevant. This is a matter of rights in that a woman (or man) ought to be allowed to utilize their property (our bodies being the first property we aquire) for whatever purpose they so desire so long as they consent to it, and there is no initiation of force against another person. At least, be consistent ... if we have no rights over our own bodies then abortion should be illegal as well as pretty much everything else we do with our bodies like practice free speech, pursue happiness, and so on.

Well that and such people live far harsher lives then legal immigrants do, and if we stopped illegal immigration we could allow a lot more legal immigrants who have a real chance to better themselves.

I mean lets say an illegal immigrant graduates college with a degree.  Now with that degree they can do... nothing.  Since you need a social security number to get a decent job or even to open a bank account.  There aren't many college graduate level under the table jobs.

It's really just a cruel joke to the illegal immigrant while simaltaniously taking up a position on college that could of went to someone who has a chance at a good future in this country.

It's like those IRS Tax numbers that trick illegal immigrants into paying taxes on the random hope that maybe if amnesty passes it might only include those who have paid taxes, or at least will give them preference.

Which is really the same as illegal immigration.  If we slowed it down a lot, we could, and no doubt would because we'd need too, greatly open up our legal immigration procedures.

Illegal immigration is really nothing but a negative to the US , illegal immigrants themselves and those who want to come here legally, as illegal immigrants are the very definition of a disposable lesser class... and it's not like you could just have outright amnesty or just get rid of all immigration controls, as that would just make it impossible to keep track of who's coming into the country and how many people are coming into the country.  We'd end up with the equilvelent of shanty towns and have massive unemployment...

Also it's not surprising his approval rating with Hispanics are down. Being mostly conservative the only thing keeping them in Democrats pockets is their stance on immigration law, which is why Bush actually tried to adopt a pro amnesty stance. It'd swing things in favor of the republican party.
