It's indeed a little bit different. One less speaker, matte, buttons changed a bit.

It's not a bad option though, Wifi isn't THAT much needed in a PSP.

No multiplayer, internet, PSN access, downloads, etc...

I guess I didn't realize how lifeless and solo the experience on PSP had become.

Become? you apparently didnt know to begin with. PSP has never been a multiplayer scene. Ad hoc party breath alittle life into it but in general you play games by yourself.( this isnt including Japan)

What gets me about this is I see PSP is only $129 in stores in US right now.

So if this does get pushed to US for a foreseeable $99... who'd want to get an obviously cheaply made unit with no wifi option for a crappy $30 less?

Hell if PSP is still outsold by the DSi at a higher price of $149... what's the point of a crappy version at $99 to match the price point of the DSlite... that has wifi?

The only pricing option they should have done was a potential drop in the PSPs price, however, right now it was selling decently and Nintendo had no reason to drop the DSi price. PSP shouldn't be touched just because of 3DS or PSV, its already the lower priced alternative.

matte finish sounds lovely but i have a strange feeling its uncomfy *like playing with really fine sand paper*

I actually never use my wi-fi on PSP, I just download updates through my computer, as the wi-fi connection settings are too complicated to bother...

If I wasn't get a Vita next year, I might actually consider this, as my 2000 is getting tired and scratched
