I saw it too, and it was better that what I expected. Hopefully the sequels won't suck.

I love the story and the atmosphere and everything. And Its nice to have a PotA movie set in modern day, like an updated version of the 60's originals.

I thought the movie itself was lacking a bit though. It was a bit slow going during the middle, and I found the big battle on the bridge at the end was kind of underwhelming. I thought the 2001 Planet of the Apes movie had a much better action sequence.

I do look forward to the sequel though. It should be interesting to see what they do with it. My bet is astronauts come back to Earth and find it overrun with apes. I wonder how many years in the future it will be set (after this one).

Yep. My second favorite film this summer behind Super 8. Any motion capture roles in the future should just default to Andy Serkis. He's the major reason why the movie works as well as it does.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

so about what happened at the end??? did these police forces got own by these monkey???? im gonna laugh if these well armed human lost the battle against these apes hahahahahah

Saw it yesterday with some of my browskies, it was indeed very awesome.

I really liked the first 80 minutes of the film. The last half hour seemed really rushed and it left a sour taste in my mouth. It's a shame because the movie started out really well, but then everything went downhill after Cesare escaped. Of course, the ending was pretty inconclusive so we'll see a sequel in the future.

How was the ending "inconclusive"?

Maybe for the sake of spoiling we can PM this. But it makes perfect sense.

Also After Ceaser escaped, the only issue I had was if the other Apes were intelligent as i didn't see him give anyone else the new virus. I know the ones from the captivity would be intelligent, but what about those freed from the zoo and lab?

Slight spoilers maybe.

I worded it wrong. I meant to say that the ending left a lot of room to lead into a sequel. But for the other part, yeah I didn't get how the zoo animals became smart too. But I feel like everything was rushed near the end. I think they should've added another 15-20 minutes in the film and expanded on the "animal's riot" part because it felt like the ending came sooner than I had expected. They showed Ceaser's growing up life perfectly but his actions of vengeance seemed rushed.

Caesar took the cure and stabbed it open, releasing the gas, witch then filled the cages with it and the animals inhaled it .

That was for the animal in the prison thing, not for the zoo animals.
