Forums - Nintendo - WYSIWYG: DDR + Just Dance = We Dance

This new dance game is trying to ride on Ubi's success via imitation and enhancements - or that's what they think. I just saw the trailer today while browsing an online shop, and what surprised me was the price of this package; 50 euros for two DDR dance mats and a game, that's cheap. Plus the trailer really sells the game, nice colours (JD/iPod stylized) and the first songs were good; just those few glimpses of gameplay that held it down. And this must be the reason why this thing is cheap, the animation and layout look really rough as you can see in the video bellow. They should have gone the filtered video method used in all these games instead of that oddly animated model they're using.

If these guys would have put as much effort in the game as they did with the trailer, I could see it being bought in this household, since some have shown interest in DDR before. Anyways, I wish them luck in their dancing endeavour.

The dance pad actually limit the "free" dancing that is Just Dance.
Looks good on paper but looks like it won't fly as a real product.

That's true, but the mat also gives it an arcade feel, though the target audience wont care. They go the same route Konami has tried of mixing the mat and the wiimote; additionally giving you the option of control, be it with the mats, remote or both. So it's basicly those two games together.

The game quality seems lower, at the end you get what you pay for. For those itching for some DDR it does offer a lower entry point, though that market has moved on.
