120/240 Hz is crap only if we are speaking about TVs which offer fake 120Hz and more by interpolating additional frames from 60 Hz input.
There are display that accept real 120 Hz signal (those are using nvidia 3D with active glasses) which are super fast monitors.
Anyway even if this is fake 3D display i could see myself replacing mine 23" tn monitor i use for ps3 gaming with this.

Im in between houses and Im feeling how much it sucks going from a 52" to a 32" screen. I dont think I could ever game on a 24." This would be an ok deal for about $300 but $500 is way too much for the 3D gimmick.
Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.
Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

specs don't matter because it's made by Sony? Say what? |

I'll wait for a couple of good reviews, someone to measure the input lag, and then make up my mind on not buying it :(. I'm sure if someone will sell this here, it will be twice the price and no bonus games.

The Display does things other monitors don't, the 2-screen is, apparently, Sony patented. It is tailored to gaming specifically, which has not been done before. Either way, I'm not sure where you drew your conclusion from, as I obviously didn't say that. |
Oh please...the monitors "special feature" has been done before and much better.
I can do it on my Samsung LED DLP using this adapter and 2 xbox 360s or PS3s consoles. - http://www.reald.com/content/pod-dual-input.aspx. Sure its expensive, but its done properly with up to 1080p resolution per eye and no ghosting. Everyone that has seen this Sony monitor says ghosting is terrible when in 2 screen mode. Also, Texas Instruments had this ready to go for the masses but didnt release it sadly.
If you do buy a 50 inch 720p 3D TV($700 bucks last time I checked), the screen size in each split screen is actually larger than 1 single 23.5 inch screen. Local multiplayer on 24 inch screens is all the rage these days anyways(sarcasm).
Some people here are completely ignorant as to what a product offers for the price point and pretend that anything Sony touches is gold.
People - if you want a 3D monitor of this size and are looking to spend 500 bucks, buy this instead. - http://www.tomshardware.com/news/3D-Vision-PlayStation-3-Phil-Eisler-GeForce-V3D245,13155.html
It supports everything 3D...all PC 3D drivers, 360, PS3, blurays, 3D cable...and makes that Sony monitor look like a 2008 product spec wise.

It is like comparing a Ferarri to a Honda. Of course one of the options is much better, but you pay premium for it.
At the end of the day, for $500, a few games a sub (is this REALLY necessary?) to get a 24' 3D splitscreen for local MP is not bad. I have seen a good bit on the ghosting issues as well, and they are getting better. To expect them to go away completely is silly, but the ghosting might not be enough to keep people away from the Value of the deal.
It comes down to $500 for 2 games, split (inferior to some, different to most) 3D MP screen + 2 glasses vs. $500 For a superior display that wont do the split screen.
It is all about personal preference. Im very excited about the potential for 1 screen split MP 3D, but they have a way to go before I plunge in. Im still waiting for my 2xDLP Theater passive projectors.
