The Display does things other monitors don't, the 2-screen is, apparently, Sony patented. It is tailored to gaming specifically, which has not been done before. Either way, I'm not sure where you drew your conclusion from, as I obviously didn't say that. |
Oh please...the monitors "special feature" has been done before and much better.
I can do it on my Samsung LED DLP using this adapter and 2 xbox 360s or PS3s consoles. - http://www.reald.com/content/pod-dual-input.aspx. Sure its expensive, but its done properly with up to 1080p resolution per eye and no ghosting. Everyone that has seen this Sony monitor says ghosting is terrible when in 2 screen mode. Also, Texas Instruments had this ready to go for the masses but didnt release it sadly.
If you do buy a 50 inch 720p 3D TV($700 bucks last time I checked), the screen size in each split screen is actually larger than 1 single 23.5 inch screen. Local multiplayer on 24 inch screens is all the rage these days anyways(sarcasm).
Some people here are completely ignorant as to what a product offers for the price point and pretend that anything Sony touches is gold.
People - if you want a 3D monitor of this size and are looking to spend 500 bucks, buy this instead. - http://www.tomshardware.com/news/3D-Vision-PlayStation-3-Phil-Eisler-GeForce-V3D245,13155.html
It supports everything 3D...all PC 3D drivers, 360, PS3, blurays, 3D cable...and makes that Sony monitor look like a 2008 product spec wise.
