El Shadai, Dead Island, Supremacy MMA, and Driver. Their hype is almost nonexistent, and the mma game looks like complete garbage.

kinding me, Dead Island has just as much hype as Call of Duty.

It has some hype from hardcore gamers, but most people don't know about it. The game comes out on September 6, and it hasn't broken into the top 20 pre-orders chart. Even if it receives favorable reviews there's a great probability that it will flop.

Well you may be right, but judging from posts of my non gamer facebook friends it has a lot of hype.

I have an odd hunch about Mario Kart 7 not doing very well....

like no more than 3 million during the holidays.....

For Mario Kart, yes.

I agree about Saints Row 3. From what I understand they poured everything in that game and the previews so far have been great but I do not see any hype whatsoever.

Resistance 3, the game is coming out in less then a month(just looked it up). Less then one month and i have not heard anything about the game except for the fact the beta is buggy and they removed the massively successful Co-op mode. When playing co-op mode i made a habbit of looking at players to see if they beat the singleplayer mode and from what i can recall it was around 20-30 percent. I doubt many of those players will buy the game when the single most played mode is removed.

Insomniac screwed up and i hope they fail hard.

I think Twisted Metal will flop. There is NO hype at all, not even on hardcore pro PS3 sites. The delay was not for "polishing" reasons but for a chance to get at least some attention in a very slow time of the year. I think 1 million would be quite good for it.

Rise of Nightmares will flop as well. It is a hardcore title on a casual device. I think 500k is realistic.

Exactly my thoughts.

Can't even remember it's name it's so unhyped .. hold on ...

....

er

Made by Codemasters .... BODY COUNT

I am scared for Resistance 3 and Ratchet & Clank. Not as much for R&C because it seems like a pretty low budget game.

I can also see Saints Row 3 going under the radar.

R3 - I dont think this will be a huge success but i still think it will get >2 million based on the story, the changes from R2 and inclusion of co-op.

R&C - Bit tricky this one. On the one hand R&C game sales have been falling (from overuse) but then again this is a 4 person NON-splitscreen co-op - this will i suspect also sell over a million.

SR 3- I agree that it has not had huge hype but if EA promote this game well and it does well with critics, I can see large sales.

Personally, i plan to buy all 3 games eventually though R3 is a pre-order for me.

The list could be almost infinite. I've been following closely the NPD threads and practically the 90% of B tier HD games have bombed hard or underperformed badly. Unless your game is an AAA recognizable franchise you have very poor chances to recoup some money from your investment. The current market is poisoned, (Wii decline has a lot to do with this, sorry third party devs you killed the goose that lays the golden egg) a few  games sell more than ever while the rest sell less and less.
