3DS should stabilize at over 200k. In 2010 DS sold about 260k in US/EU combined at the beginning of the year, dropping to about 200k by the end of March; now 3DS has sold 230k this past week in the two territories, even with a 40% drop (150k) with Japan it should stay at high levels.

This thread is going to be a bit depressing when the DS holidays kick in - eventually that gap is going to keep closing until the 3DS is passed :( But nonetheless, the 3DS is a sales beast :p

i think that the more people doom a Nintendo system the more it sells

The other problem with this comparison along with the peak holiday season launch vs. the traditionally low hardware sales season launch is that sales for the DS didn't really take off anyway until the DSl.

This may have something to do with all the positive/hopeful speculation about sales of a redesigned "3DSl" blowing up the platform.

While there's definitely room for improvement in the 3DS design, with the most blaring omission being the right analog stick, I'd be surprised if there's a major hardware update in under 2 years from initial launch. I'd be even more surprised if it came in the form of another "lite" design seeing as how the dimensions of the existing 3DS are already virtually the same as the DSl.

A 3DS XL would work just fine to improve the sales: longer battery, bigger screens, better 3D's angle of vision.

How many do you have?

I have over 500 people on mine and over 550 times. I'm sure I'd have more if I hadn't stopped doing it for awhile after I unlocked everything awhile ago. At least until they updated it again with new puzzles and surechigai densetsu 2!

I get 10 people everytime I go to Sofmap or Bic Camera on a weekend or holiday.

I've got about half of that.

I live in a small town. Not so many 3DS owners around...


You should try a trip to Tokyo ^_^ If you live near there of course.
