So if 3DS beats DS pace, how about comparing it to the Wii pace, as it is the champion up to 50 or 70m (i don't remember well) in sales pace.
Nota bene : DS started to skyrocket with the release of Nintendogs, its start was not that howsome, so that's not a big feat to beat DS up to Nintendogs.

 I think the 3DS has beat the Wii in sales for some country's (excluding the U.S.) but don't take my word on it.

Nintendo had a great experience from DS.
Not surprise here, because DS was the most successfull hardware Nintendo ever had and 3DS had Full Backward compatibility DS Software.
