Others has finally showed Sony some love for their first Christmas in that region, pushing the PS3 ahead of the 360 worldwide for all of December. The margin is usually small (within 30k usually), so it isn't exactly a victory due to margin of error, but you can see the difference Others is making in the numbers, a much needed boost. The only question is whether or not the PS3 has reached a new plateau, or if they will succumb to post-holiday blues and plummet. I suppose we'll see in the next few weeks. January/February are usually bad months for those not suffering from supply constraints.

well it was the first holiday season for the ps3 in europe alot of people seem to forget that... on top of that europe only got one well timed price cut after 7 months.. so kudos but the next two month will answer alot of questions

Sony needs to make Europe/others to PS3 what America is to 360.

not convinced that sony have taken off yet. i think end if january will give us an indication.

Ya, I think the sales will fall pretty hard but then pick up whenever some of Feb/Mar games hit and plateau at around 55k a week.

but we're talking about europe/others... noone thinks that ps3 sales will stabe out ahead of 360 sales without a pricecut from either?

the ps3 is 400 euro's in europe, that's almost 600 dollars

I'm really glad to see the ps3 doing so great in EU/Others this holiday.

I also agree...the true test will come in the weeks following Christmas, but I look for the ps3 to continue to perform well there. Burnout Paradise and GT5:Prologue are fairly popular with the European markets so should help keep the ps3 moving steady.

I guess unlike others, I think "Others" will continue to show pretty strong support for the ps3 in coming months....it obviously will drop dramatically because of Holiday sales, but I expect the post-holiday sales drops to be even larger in the US which benefits the ps3 since NA is so anti-sony right now.

Yeah well, price cuts, the holiday season.. how could it not go up? :p I mean, it's not like everyone suddenly loves the ps3 now. It still has a loooong way to go to even come close to the Xbox 360. Besides, sales for ALL consoles and handhelds went up the last few months. That was only to be expected, haha.

If you'd call this embracing the ps3, they must be making sweet love to the Wii. Hot, steamy, sweet chocolately love. All night long.

Still, ps3 sales are up. About time.

I wonder when ps2 sales will dry up by the way?
