I import a lot of games from japan, so it is important to me, but those valuable cunsumers are not a big portion of the install base... And you can clearly see it when you look at the JP charts. JP games with no hope of coming to the west (Love plus, shooter, dating games and some JRPG) usually dont sell more than 30-50k... so as you see those valuable consumer (me as an instance) are a very small number...

 And dont worry, the 3ds will kick vitas butt with no questions...

Though the Yen is only getting stronger compared to the flagging Dollar and this has to be the peak time for Wii U R&D costs, but even with the 3DS' poorer end-user performance, all sales of the 3DS should be profit, as should pretty much all of their game sales unless they hid a big-budget megaflop in there somewhere

I'm just not sure how you lose money with a business model like that

I wouldn't say its in trouble,but, more like in panic mode. They do have their games coming out this holiday season, so they should managed for the rest of the year.
