Forums - Nintendo - Amazon.com blocks sales of 3DS

Coming from an Amazon rep...

“The reason why this is under a review :

The flip-screen is loose when its opened, please inform them that Nintendo has confirmed as long as the upper screen locks into place, the unit is within Nintendo’s design specification. Customers can call 1-800-255-3700.”
If this is indeed the reason, I'm not too sure what Nintendo can do in the short-term to get Amazon selling the 3DS again. How does one resolve this issue without taking months of work to do so?

Via GoNintendo

My black 3DS' screen does tend to wobble if i really shake the system (as happened a few times when i got pissed off at Link's Awakening), but i wasn't aware this was a product quality issue

Yea, i would think that is somewhat common with any flip device.

edit: nvm explained above... wobbling screen? :S is that really that bad to be called an issue?

interesting, thanks for the update.  curious that amazon would stop selling over this reason.

Or how is it that Amazon is the only retailer with a shipment of failing flip screen mechanisms?

That's what i'm wondering, namely if a large recall isn't inbound, or if they're just overreacting to a non-issue

For a unit with accelerometers and 3d effect dependant on narrow viewing angle ? I'd say that's rather big problem.

Shaking it to make it wobble is drastically different than playing the game and moving for the accelerometer. I'd say you don't own one.

Yeah, because 3DS was selling so well it just had to happen. Nintendo will be so pleased.

You know what? I blame Reggie for this.
