Forums - Nintendo - If Nintendo of America localized an old gen game, what would you wish for?

Earthbound.

Anyway, it is weird that Enix canceled Terranigma for North America considering it was not only a superior game to Zelda and Secret of Mana, but also because it was already translated and North America probably had way more SNES users than Europe.

Either way, it is kind of annoying that games don't get proper releases. It wasn't until just in the past decade that I stopped importing games.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

I vote for Mother 3. That one, and Soma Bringer for DS are games that should had been localised already.

Bringing Squeenix games into it just makes it way difficult as there are tons of interesting titles that America didn't get. Terranigma, Front Mission, Seiken Densetsu 3, Romancing SaGa 3, Treasure Hunter G, Bahamut Lagoon. All of them SNES RPG's from Square and Enix that, with the exception of Terranigma, never left Japan.

Bring Square enix into the list, and this list will be never ending.

Front Mission 1 was remade onto the DS. The gameplay is essentially unaltered, I played both games about 50% through.

You made quite a good list for Square Enix, however some others

Front Mission Gun Hazard, Alternative, 2, 3, 5.

Romancing SaGa 1, 2.

Good thing DS saw a lot of Dragon Quest Remakes.

Damn, Front Mission is such a good franchise... Why do so few turn based RPG's make it over seas?

Because the Japanese think that Western gamers are stupid. That was the main reason why many JRPGs weren't released outside of Japan and since SRPGs take it one step further, hardly any of them were released in America, much less Europe.

It's not like this attitude has changed much since then. For example, the Gamecube Fire Emblem game Path of Radiance was released worldwide, but the hard mode of the Japanese version got removed entirely and an additional easy mode was added.

Some of the SNES Final Fantasy's also got an Easy Mode released in Japan, which was the standard American version.

It's so lame though, Fire Emblem games sell just as well in Americas as they do in Japan. Radiant Dawn actually sold better in Americas then Japan, and it's likely the GBA/GCN interations also came close.
