How come Nintendo gets the blame but never Sony or Microsoft?
Even when Sony got hacked for the PSN debacle, not much blame flying around at all.

While they were unprepared to be sure, that was a malicious attack on them by an outside party while Sony was doing right by gamers and releasing cool games. Nintendo are the ones screwing Nintendo here, by waiting to release games.

They had it coming. They were even given warning before hand.
Remember the first wave of DoSS attack where Sony claimed victory and the fans here were cheering?
And storing passwords in plain text isn't their fault? It's like they take the login system from 1980.

These companies probably get tons of threats, you can't act on them all. And besides, this is avoiding my original response. Sony isn't hated as much because someone maliciously attmepted to hurt Sony. While there defense was subpar and they were ridiculed for weeks, ultimately they were the victim. Nintendo is the one responsible most directly in the 3DS scenario.

3rd parties complained they can't compete with 1st party games, Nintendo leave the windows wide open, 3rd parties blame lack of hardware sales. They are just moving the goal post all over the places. You just don't see the same kind of blame elsewhere.

You're right, you don't see that kind of blame elsewhere. It might be a side effect of having such a dominant first party. Sony and to a lesser extent Microsoft make good games, but Nintendo's are good and sell the best. Developers don't have to deal with that on other consoles, so they make excuses and crap. But ultimately, I think the developers are wrong as is Nintendo. You can be successful on a Nintendo system that has Nintendo games if your game is very good. Nintendo should have just released games immediately, meaning of course Mario games specifically. Rol also said this earlier, and I think it's true.

"Becoming"?
This entire generation has been a testament to the stupidity of 3rd parties.
If there was a developer's graveyard they'd have to start stacking coffins above ground because their manchild sensibilities are making developer heaven too crowded.
I've also noticed it's very schoolyard politics. Difficulties and roadblocks only apply to Nintendo systems, but they don't apply to a $600 console that's notoriously hard to develop for that also had the hilarious distinction of selling worse than the GameCube in its first year. Yet somehow it was more important to develop for that console than the fastest selling console in history.
Not only that, but beyond a business of today level, they also drove a lot of new and lapsed gamers away with their never ending tidal wave of shit games. So they not only fucked themselves this generation, but generations to come. I feel sorry for all the new gamers whose curiosity was rewarded with condescending pricks treating them like they're retarded.
I have no problems watching a healthy chunk of this industry die, time and again they've demonstrated contempt for their audience and astounding levels of short-sightedness and pettiness.
It's only going to get worse going forward.
