there are alot of solutions but cutting taxes at this point won't help.

America has been Cutting taxes for the past 11 yrs and growth is next to not so its not working.

raising taxes would be even worse so cutting spending where it needs to be cut(not education like most Republican,ts would do) is the best solution.

why does the President, senate, and congressmen get paid anyway? isn't that suppose to be a public service?

I agree, how much lower can we cut taxes until Republicans think it's fair? We need a real bill that everyone contributes in fixing our debt, not this "deal" they're making right now. I don't see how eliminating tax loopholes will harm the economy, especially if they're helping create jobs overseas. I also don't see the harm in making reforms to entitlements, if it will strengthen them for the years to come.

What I do know is that cutting Pell Grants and Head Start is not going to help "job creation"

How many countries in the world right now have a perfect economy and have 0 national debt?

Imagine if the US made spending cuts and increases based on what we actually get in growth (last I heard just over 1% growth in the US market this year... thats sad) we wouldn't have all these problems.

There are too many people that rely on the government for aid, and honestly most people can live without that aid if they worked full time and watched their damn budget.

There are other policies that could be looked at along side reducing spending.

- Immigration policies: lets face it, the baby boomers are retiring, and you need a large workforce to support them

- Trade policies: R&D incentives, free trades, cut agricultural subsidies, green opportunity incentives

- Defence policies: Force Europe to increase their military spending instead of relying on America, decrease spending on conventional weapons/programs

- Education reforms: It will benefit the economy in the long term

End of the day at some point you have to take control of your expenses. You could just keep stacking it on the credit card until eventually the payments are to high or you cannot get anymore credit which is pretty much what the US had been doing backed by a strong dollar.

I am pretty sure we are at the payments are to high and not far off the credit limit exceeded stages.

Of course you could pretend this does not matter and just wait until its too late and drag everybody else down with you.
