I don't feel the original CE is THAT outdated or old to warrant those kinds of sales.

Although I know that the Halo remake will sell tons of copies, I am not one to purchase remakes. Did not buy the GOW remakes, not interested in the Zelda 3DS remake, and I sure as hell do not care about the Halo remake. Just like how Sony used the GOW remakes as a precursor to GOW3, MS is using the Halo remake as a precursor to Halo 4. I find it lame and a cheap money grab that really works in the gaming community.

When MS announced the Halo remake and Halo 4, I literally facepalmed, because its so pathetic how they do not have the creative content to make something new rather than pump out copy after copy of their saving grace title. If Sony drops a GOW4 on my ass anytime soon, I would want to uppercut them. How many Halos have been released on the 360? Counting the RTS game, we have 4 titles, with another 2 headed to the system. SIX FUCKING HALOS ON ONE SYSTEM!!!! And these gamers just gobble it up! I dont get it! Uncharted is amazing, but man,I sure as hell hope Sony doesn't drop a 4th (arguably Golden Abyss) and 5th one on me anytime soon.

Or maybe, MAYBE, I'm a cynical ol asshole!

Although it will sell very well, there are a few other exclusives that will sell more.

I thought everyone agreed Gears was monster? O_o

Tis interesting to see many don't think halo CE remake will sell well. Among halo fans its considered the best. And the remake has lots of extras including fleshed out multiplayer. I predict 10 million plus lifetime. And it will outsell gears 3 imo. To be honest I didn't include handheld or Nintendo lol. Cue the ignorance comments.

But I think many underestimate halo CE and its huge fanbase.

though i liked Halo CE when it first released 10 years ago, i would be slightly surprised if the main stream gamers (out side of this site) will be very hyped for it. im not trolling this game.
what im saying is game standards has changed massively in that time frame. Pacing, game play, set pieces, enemy AI, level design, etc. i mean does/will this game really get people to like it again.
when i bought medal of honor last year, it came with Medal of Honor: frontlines, a good game for its time (i reallize that Halo was still better). i played and beat it for the trophies but i was shocked at how dated it played. modern shooters have advanced tremendously since then. the original Killzone (im using this because i still own it) was great to me at the time (though it got average at best reviews) but i tried playing it before the launch of Killzone 3 (the best shooter of this gen) and i couldnt complete it, it was too dated.
games change, advance. i think pretty much one of the only games that still are acceptable today is God of War, and even that game you know is old for reasons other than the graphics.
i realize this is a very "hardcore" website, so there are gamers that play old games and love them, and think to themselves what have game standard gone to. they play their psone era RPGs (perhaps another genre that still are fine by todays standards).
but it seems as though shooters really dont age gracefully... So what im saying is though lots of people on this site will love it, dont you think the average gamer will resent it after the initial hype of release. i think legs would die quickly because to them modern shooters are a lot better.
this is just my opinion, feel free to disagree

I know you will not understand this, but id rather a new halo game or Alan wake over any other game. Halo is the closest to perfection a game series has ever been for me. I'm guessing the sales consistancy suggests this for others to.

i think halo cea will sell over 3 million for years end and over 6million in lifetime sales.
i think gears of war 3 will be the best selling exclusive this year on consoles.
on overall gaming machines including handhelds, that is easy its pokemon black/white.
halo 4 will definitely win the title of best selling exclusive next year without much of a fight.

Thing is halo CE is as playable and as brilliant as reach. Level design, ai, etc. Playing the original now is in many respects better than the new halos. Its a freak game for its time. Its so modern for halo today. It works because there is no other shooter remotely like halo. Both in mechanics and in art.
