There were so many great RPGs and graphics were at a level that I'm satisfied with even today.

for me, its this gen, just because it has my favourite games :D

I gotta say the 5th generation was my favorite for the megaton of great games, new game franchises, and unique games it had.

I enjoyed the PS2 era a ton (much more than PSX, N64), but there are so many great games lately (and more are coming), that I feel this will be the best for me. Also, I now have the money to actually buy games.

In retrospect I should have included every generation. However the results would be skewed as most gamers have not seriously gamed since the beginning. I can't add it now as the results already include dozens of votes which may have gone to a prior gen.

in all gen's i've play'd all systems listed, but i'd have to say the 5th gen is my fav.

the 6th gen was a great gen but the end started something i wish i had never seen and that was the hatred i see on this and other sites for rival consoles and the blind ideology that came with it; although it existed in the 6th gen as, well, i had no idea about it until my first interaction with a friend about wht is now the 7th gen.

while i was joking (and had no idea wht was happening) my friend was serious about the 360 being the better console which is how he felt about the Xbox while owning both systems.

But my first sales conversation came when my brother told me "the Xbox sold more then PS2 this wk" and i was like "so PS2 has been out selling it since jump right?(as i had no idea).

but the war here was the worst i had seen, and in 2010 it hit a boiling point and that's wht brought me to this VGC.
VGC had me pissed for months after i got here.

any way with games like FF7, Goldeneye 007, Killer instinct gold, SSB, and Conkers Bad Furday? the 6TH and 7Th gens fail to met even one of the games listed for the 5th gen

This gen is very under rated

Personally, for now, its the PS2. I say for now because it takes long to develop RPG and the current generation will still last for another 3-4 years minimum. At the end of this gen its highly probable ill prefer this gen.

SNES era. And this thread painfully fails for not including it and the many other gens before it.

I voted for the PSX era. The SNES and PSX era are by far my favorite two generations. All the good jRPGs. This generation has been my least favorite so far. Overrun by hostile fanboys, shooters, online multiplayer, DLC, and patches.
