Casual gamers can keep Wii Sports for all I care. Who knows if Microsoft can build a good wii-like controller with a more deeper game play than Wii Sport.

Yes, because Wii Sports represents the most effective use of motion controls on the Wii... it's not like Zack & Wiki, Metroid Prime 3, and Super Mario Galaxy are out or anything.  I'm tired of trolls.

With this I have to agree with you. A lot of people aren't aware of the WII-controls with other WII games. Tomb Raider Anniversary another example, a game which I wouldn't buy on other consoles, as like with Uncharted, I can't get used to the analoge targeting. With the remote on the other hand, things with these kind of games feel a lot smoother. Therefore I can't wait to play a Metroid Prime, which I have here from the US. Same goes for Raving Rabbids, Wario, Excite Truck, Elebits,... if it weren't for the controls I wouldn't be having these games. It are the controls that makes the WII so special to buyers, like the touchscreen with the DS. '

What concerns the 360 controls,... I'm not so sure... I just hope for the sake of MS it won't easily.... break

Sorry... silly joke.

But Wii sports are the most impressive motion controls. Thats just what the controller is made for. I didn't play Z&W but they could have made SMG without motion controls at all. The star collecting is the possibly most annoying part of the otherwise great game and Metroid Prime3? Its a Lightgun. better than a normal controller but it is hurt by the existance of a far superior input device for FPS (k&m).

Wii Tennis on the other hand is truly revolutionary. What is the most annoying and boring game on other consoles becomes possibly the best console game for playing with friends through the Wiimote.

Wii sports the most impressive motion controls? Says who? You obviously have no clue what you're talking about and have probably never played anything other than Wii sports. Go troll somewhere else. May I recommend the SDF?

I've seen these pictures before, they were the prototypes of the nintendo wii (revolution back then). Hopefully i can still find that link and show.

But i do believe microsoft is working on an add-on. With motion sention, Just not the one on the picture in the article

I heard about this like a year ago and nothing came of it

Don't get the fanboy juices up. Lightgun games are nice and arguably better than dual analog for FPS but they are not particularily new and Mario Galaxy would have been as fun without any motion controls at all. Yes they have implemented them nicely but the motion control really shine when you do swinging motions like in Tennis, Bowling etc. This is something really new. In Mario they are mostly gimmick. (And yes I played Mario. I have not played Metroid but Medal of Honor)

It's an add-on. Nothing to get worked up about. Besides, 360 demographics=/Wii demographic. It won't "kill" anything.

That's the killer part for MS.  They aren't going to convince even casuals that don't like the complex controllers to shift over.  And they are going to get their hardcore gamers coming down on them for going 'Wii-wantabee'.  Even most Wii games (so far) for more complex gaming go with buttons versus motion control.

If they do it just as a 'demo' for their next box (2010/11?) and to see if they can pull in casuals, that is one thing.  But as a primary contoller for the X360 and its future games?  Unlikely that would succeed if that is their goal.

Torturing the numbers.  Hear them scream.

You don't have to swing the controller with wii tennis, you can just spin it in your hand. Because you are tilting it on a tighter axis than if you swing, your shots will be as powerful (or more so) than if you swing it as you would playing tennis for real.
I don't have a wii, and have not played wii sports that extensively, but it only took a couple of minutes of experimentation to realise you can "trick" the controller to your advantage by using it in ways other than those intended.
I couldn't do it with wii bowling though. If I didn't find real bowling such a tedious endeavour, I would've been very impressed.

OT: Obviously couldn't harm the wii significantly, but if they had a killer motion-sensing app it could be interesting.

Yeah, this is too little too late. I don't suspect it'll take off, even IF they ever released anything like it.

 2008 Predictions:

Wii: 44 Million
Xbox360: 25 Million
PS3: 22 Million

DS: 90 Million
PSP: 37 Million
