I've sent Zenonia 3 (I saw it's free on Android Market. I bet it has lots of ads?) to my HTC Desire HD. It'll download once I finish charging it (and boy do I have to charge that thing often. lol). Personally I'm not too keen on the touch screen controls for Zenonia. I have Zenonia 2 and put it aside from now. I got the PSN Mini version of Zenonia 1 because I much prefer having physical buttons for a game like that.
Haven't tried Inotia 3. I'll give it a look. The MMO-ish questing vibe is alright by me. Euphoria knows how to spot quality smartphone games.
As for the turn-based jrpgs, I just recently beat Eternal Legacy HD. I clocked in about 7 hours 30 mins or so (the clock stops when you access the menus though. So I spent more time than that. And of course added time for replaying certain areas where I died). Really short jrpg but given that the game is like $5 at most (at one point Gameloft sold it for a $1 on sale) and the game is an enjoyable (though generic and unoriginal) ATB-based turn-based j-style rpg on your Android or iOS device, it's not a bad deal at all. If you have an Android smart device or iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad and you like jrpgs, I think you'll like it. Yeah it's on the generic and unoriginal side and it's certaintly no Persona 3/4 and that's why I give it a 4/5 on backloggery. But most jrpgs are like that. And the game is modernized in a way that it's not tedious in the way that many jrpgs are. I think a 7/10 or 8/10 is fair for a game like that (more like 8/10 if you consider how much gaming critic review scores are inflated). It's definitely a game that I enjoy playing and even if it was on the PSP with more competition instead of smartphones, I'd still play it and enjoy it. It's just not something truly memorable or genre-defining. I consider Eternal Legacy to be the smartphone version of Enchanted Arms. A underrated jrpg that barely got noticed because it was downplayed as generic and unoriginal (though I felt that Enchanted Arms was the more memorable game because of the humourous dialogue and characters).
I'm currently taking a stab at The Symphony of the Eternity (Android exclusive I believe). My party is up to level 14 and I recently cleared The Abode of Fire cave. I get the sense that this is going to be a solid 8/10 type of rpg. And from what I heard, it sounds like a lengthier game than Eternal Legacy. And I prefer the gameplay in Symphony of Eternity (which has a job system. Not exactly innovative in 2010/2011 but a fun system). Eternal Legacy has impressive graphics (polygonal 3D rpg on a phone is sure to impress since lots of people ignorantly believe that phone games have primitive graphics) whereas Symphony of Eternity has a more old-school 16-bit feel to it.
I was finishing up the "end game" of Eternal Legacy in my friend's car (we were carpooling after spending some time up north) and a friend asked me what I was playing on my phone and I said it was a RPG and another friend said, "what? are you serious? on a phone?" They were intrigued that these kind of games were made on smartphones. A lot of people still have this idea in their heads that smartphone games = flash games. Angry Birds does not represent all of smartphone gaming. There are meaty games to be found on these devices. Don't knock smartphone gaming if you haven't seriously tried it. The lack of physical buttons is a damn shame (and I'm not about to get an Xperia Play. Yeah I'd get physical buttons but the critics didn't think the phone was too hot overall. There are better Android phones out there). But a lot of games don't need physical buttons (ie. turn-based jrpgs) and many games try to work around the issue by optimizing touch controls.
Gameloft also has a MMORPG for iPhone (coming to Android too. Though they might have already ported it by now) as well. I'd like to check that out.
