Forums - General - Things which strangely make you feel uncomfortable

Surprisingly nothing mentionedhere makes me quiver, yet. However there is this one plant, which is also used as a scent for soaps now that I absolutely dread to smell. I think it's because I remember this one medicine when I was just a few years old that smelled like it. It's a very particular smell, but I can't quite remember what the name was.

Somebody watching me while I cook...freaks me out.

Great topic, I feel the same way on a few of these. Roaches make me very uncomfortable, especially when I see one flying around! It freaks me out.

Also when someone is just staring at you for an awkwardly long time.

There are only a couple of things that really can make me uncomfortable, but nothing bothers me as much as passive-agressive people.

Probably some of the most annoying, boring and utterly problematic people I've ever met in my life were passive-aggresive. Their ability to twist every single conversation into a ritual of victimization and constant ambiguity makes it not worth it to talk to any of them.

Crane flys really creep me out. There's just something about the way they fly, it looks like they're in a constant state of panic and confusion, when in reality, all they want to do is ruin my day!

Taking a dump in public restrooms. Farts crack me up and I can talk about shit all day long. For some reason I don't want people to hear me ripping ass in the bathroom. I usually flush the toilet right when I am about to explode to dampen the sound.

THIS!

I once timed my poop for the middle of the night in a building where nobody else was.  As soon as I got ready to do it, some people came in.  Easing the poop out doesn't work because each fart is louder and more pronounced--but forcing the poop out is even worse because of the loud splash combined with the........I'll stop now.

I recommend making a small toilet paper nest over the water, for the shit to fall on when splashes are unwelcome.

That is pretty good advice.  I hate when I gotta go bad in the public restroom and I am struggling to get the toilet paper down on the seat.  I refuse to use the toilet covers cause they are pretty thin.  I had to resort to hovering a few times because there was no time to waste.

When I have to go to Mr. Belding's office, that guy creeps me out!

talking to people in a crowd. I get anxiety are something. Just talking in general. hehehe

-Sometimes, I'll be with a lot of people and I'll be saying stuff and everyone will be laughing. It's like I have them in the palm of my hand--then, I realize that everybody is paying attention to me and suddenly I'll go revert to shy mode. I prefer to be in the shadows, these days.

-When I identify with a character in a movie and they do/say something socially awkward. It's not even me but I feel bad for them.

-Sitting on badgenome's lap. He says there's nothing wrong with it and I shouldn't feel ashamed but it still makes me feel uncomfortable.

-When people talk about sports. I'm not a big sports fan and they always end up asking my opinion. Sometimes everybody on my job will be talking about a playoff or championship game or something and I won't even know which teams are playing.

-There are these poor people that live a few miles away from my house. They are ALWAYS having yard sales but they don't really ever have anything to sell. They end up selling blue jeans and street signs and stuff like that. On top of that, they're kid is always playing right beside the highway. Every time I pass that house, I just feel awkward--and they're ALWAYS outside sitting on their porch. What the fuck is up with that?

For me, it's when I say something about a serious topic and I realize everyone is listening intently. I usually try to change the mood by saying something to discredit myself.

Also, being somewhere that's completely quiet unnerves me.
