Sony - Atlus

No-one else is worth buying from a practical point of view as they won't be worth the amount paid.

If Sony were to buy SE I think it could help them get our of their slump. SE games aren't bad at all but they are making some stupid financial moves.

That's a pretty good idea, Square Enix and SONY were great partners in the 5th and 6th gen, it's a shame about this generation though.

It would be a good idea, but Square Enix make a lot of popular games on the DS...But if we are talking about next generation, the 3DS is going to lose a lot of ground compared to it's predecessor.

...It will never happen though, unless Square Enix separate with Eidos and SONY offer them a LOT of money.

Insomniac has made some of the highest rated Playstation exclusives around, they would never join Microsoft. Epic games however is a no brainer, Bulletstorm flopped on the PS3, their games are a lot more suited to the XBOX 360 fanbase, I am surprised it hasn't happened yet.

Why would Microsoft buy Insomniac? It's not like their games are big or anything.

Next gen levels made punch out (which I have to get before its too late why does no one sell their copies their is no used games or new ones)

So nintendo buy them! also they made mario strikers

(killeryoshis note - Who put that there ?)
Switch is 9th generation. Everyone else is playing on last gen systems! UPDATE: This is no longer true. 2nd UPDATE: I have no Switch 2. I am now behind

Nintendo no longer have any 1st or 2nd party studios in Europe. However, the only European studio I can think of that Nintendo could buy is perhaps Headstrong (Battalion Wars, HotD: Overkill). Even though they are already a 2nd party, Nintendo could buy Next Level (Mario Football, Luigi's Mansion 2, Punch Out Wii) and make them 1st party. I wouldn't mind Nintendo saving Tales studio (mainline Tales games) from Namco-Bandai, the precedent being set several years ago with Monolith, hopefully that would also help secure Tales releases here in Europe if Monolith is anything to go by. Arika (Street Fighter EX, 3D Classics: Excitebike, Endless Ocean) is another that springs to mind and so does Monster (Excitebots, Excitetruck).

I made threads on Nintendo and Microsoft buying devs in the past, so I suggest reading them.

Developers that Microsoft needs to buy

Developers that Nintendo needs to buy

I haven't made one for Sony yet.

Microsoft

I don't see HVS being a good fit because they aren't the best developer. They have been in business for over 15 years, and they haven't made a single game that got good reviews, plus they're mostly a shovelware dev. Insomniac also doesn't seem like a good fit because they do most of their developing on the PS3. Epic Games is ok.

Sony

Platinum Games can go both ways. Their games are good,  but their talent doesn't seem like the type Sony would want. Q-Games is a good fit. Sucker Punch is also a good fit. Quantic Dream is good, because of the IP rights to Heavy Rain, ad because of the Motion Capture that they do.

Nintendo

Next Level Games is a perfect fit. Silicon Knights, is good, as long as they make top selling games, and the talent doesn't leave. thatgamecompany wouldn't make any sense because all of their work has been for Sony. They would make more sense if they went multiplat.

That would hurt gamers (and possibly Atlus) as whole since they develop and publish games for all consoles. That means less niche games coming to the States.

I say Sony should buy From Software

Sony is definately missing out on an excellent oppurtunity to buy From. Demon's Souls was such a break out hit, with no advertising what so ever. Add to that, securing the Armored Core franchise and you have a winning combination. Platinum is with Sega, though they could benefit from the financial support that Sony could provide. Platinum makes some of the best games I've played this gen, but they need proper advertising. You wouldn't believe how many people I've had over to play games and they see Vanquish and are just astounded by it, they literally had no idea it even exsisted. As for SE, I believe Sony already has a small investment in them, though I don't know if it would be wise for them to gain a controlling interest due to SE's inconsistent game quality this gen.

Careful there, mate. I am all for trolling Sony, but saying that their games are absolutely nothing without cutting edge technology is going farther than even I ever would.

I was not trying to say that SCE games would not be good without there great visuals, But lets face it, The only 2 games i could see that SCE has that would be a hit on Nintendo platforms without Great graphics is LitteBigPlanet & Modnation Racers.

Everything else would not be much of a hit at all with the kind of community Nintendo has.

Just saying.  :)
