Forums - Sony - will god of war chain of Olympus boots psp sales?

Sadly, it would seem software and hardware sales on the PSP have next to nothing to do with each other. I'll be extremely surprised if there's a major boost that lasts more than a few weeks.

GGE having played the demo i can assure you that what i experienced is FAR better than both GoW and GoW2.

naz was dissapointed with it, i havent tried it but the videos of it look fantastic.

Well of course he was ... actually the only PSP game that I remember that he didnt mocked was Jean D'arc ... or was it FFT ... anyways , it was a tactical RPG . Yes , it seams that CoO could be batter than GoW1 or 2 , many people ( GoW and not PSP fans ) stated that the game was at least en-par with previous games .

The only issue it can have is : poor story

                                                short gameplay time

The Gameplay  isn allready full-proof , and same is the graphics and audio ;)

Are you being serious?

GoW and GoW2 easily put to shame GoW:CoO. I've played the demo as well and, while being fantastic for a handheld game and looking far better than many PS2 games, it isn't nearly pushing to be better than either of the first two God of War games.

OT: It should give it a little boost in hardware, and software for this title should move briskly. At least, I hope.

Well I bought the system mainly for this game, I absolutely love the demo, but I have to agree with Dolla, gamingdevil in what way is it better then the other gow's? it's exactly the same.

I don't think it will boost sales much though.

Software-wise: I expect 2.5 million lifetime. If PSP sold 23 million (conservative) by the time CoO comes out, that's more than a 10% attach rate. I think Sony will hype the crap out of it because of the low attach rates and the fact that it's their biggest first-party PSP game, coming from a popular series. With this in mind, I think a 12-15% attach rate is believable.

EDIT: OOPS!  I meant if the PSP sold 33 million by that time, I could understand a 6-8% attach rate.
