Forums - Sony - PSN Pass Program: Sony's Answer to Used Game Sales?!

To all those that complaining, you should be thanking them as that will decrease used games prices.

I didn't see a relations between EA Need For Speed (and the price declining) and past titles in the franchise (Given someone should do a detailed study of that). So I don't necessarily thanking them for anything.

However I do find it funny, that no one supported EA, but people are suppoting Sony online pass move. :P

I see this as a bad thing because what about those of us who lend out our games to our friends. It would be pretty messed up if I lend my friend Resi 3 and they can't play online with it

If a buy a game new and the game suck and I want to sell it on kijiji or ebay can I sell the game and the code with it or is the pass linked to my console or account forever?

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

For all those quoting $55 used games please go to ebay and do a search on used games. Far cheaper. Gamestop is not the end all be all of used games, its just the biggest retail used game store.

http://video-games.shop.ebay.com/Games-/139973/i.html?LH_ItemCondition=2750&LH_PrefLoc=1&_trkparms=65%253A12%257C66%253A2%257C39%253A1%257C72%253A5049&rt=nc&_nkw=xbox+360+used+game&_catref=1&_dmpt=Video_Games_Games&_sticky=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_sop=1&_sc=1

Now its more like almost doubling the price of used games.

Well if it is exactly like EA pass, they can have a 7 day free pass per account. Assuming this system is exactly like EAs.

That's stupid. Whatever little interest I had in the game is gone. I wasn't gonna buy R3 new so now I'm not even gonna bother if I have to pay for a pass.

So your telling me, that you were going to buy it for 55$, just to save yourself the 5$, and now you are going to miss out on one of the best shooters of the year, for that? oh the lulz.

$55? I could get the game for under $30 on ebay or craigslist. Oh the lulz.

Edit: And one of the best shooters of the year? This game looks pretty mediocre from all the gameplay videos I've seen. R3 won't come close to BF3, MW3, Halo CE, Gears 3 and Uncharted 3 online. All those games I've listed will be better than R3, so I'd hardly call R3 one of the "best" shooters of the year. Not even close.

I don't like it but I have to admit that this method works, I haven't bought an used EA game in ages.

I happily supported the EA Online Pass too.

Also, this statement you made was pretty hilarious-- "This is a bad move by Sony for customers (Business wise this is the smartest move sony has done in awhile), I typically don't resell things, but I like having the option that they are still worth the value I paid for. "

Games generally aren't collectible items (even though people collect them) and generally do not increase in value.  It's pretty ridiculous to expect anything you buy to completely retain its value.  Like cars, furniture, books, movies, and most everything else things decline in value.

One of two things will happen-- either Sony and EA and others that adopt this will see it's a bad idea and stop because people don't support or places like Gamestop will see that it's a good idea and adjust their used game prices.  In the end, there's little effect on the end user.

If it's Gamestop that sees they have to change, true, they will give you less money for a game but they'll also charge less for a game.  That money you saved will either be a bonus if you don't play online multiplayer or it won't matter because you'll pay less for the used game.

Really people get the eff over it I'm 17 and I buy all my games new with my money that I save up and I don't have a job. I get money for my birthday and other things, and I don't blow it right when I get like a lot of people probably do. I actually try and save it so I can buy the games I want, when I want. I don't see how this will affect first week sales at all, it hasn't on the EA games. I'm not supporting it but I think it's stupid to argue like kids about this and how it's the best shooter of the year. No it will not be the best, but from what I have seen from videos it looks like they stepped there game up to make it the best in the series. I know I'm buying it first week so.

Take my brother for example he has a job and when he gets his pay check he blows it on stupid ass supplements so he can look big. I think that is the dumbest thing to waste money on.

I don't know why I said the value I paid for, must have been looking at my ps2 collection! :P

I meant still worth the trade in value is still existant. Sorry about that.
