Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Belongs in the Toy Aisle

When did they start allowing females in our Real Elite Gamers Alliance Legion? I think I'm going to renew my G.R.O.S.S. membership.

Wow, really? ALL video games and consoles are essentially toys, seeing as you "play" them. Just because they look sexy and have major horsepower doesn't change this fact. Sony and MS games to me are more like movies than games..

Everybody who makes this argument never has any legitimate explanations to support it. They only resort to the weak "it's for teh kiddiez!" argument.

If I can play games like Sin & Punishment 2, Super Mario Galaxy 2, and Zelda on this toy... it's not a toy I'm embarrassed to be caught playing with.

Another Nintendo hater. Nintendo needs more FPS then it will be a "real" gaming system.

They need more "Third party support" and then it will be a gaming system for all core gamers.  :)

Agree but they really need is a signature FPS game since that is the most popular genre.

Has COD BO multiplat sales surpassed the top wii games in sales?

cause if it can be argued that sales don't equate quality, they sure are a good indicator of popularity.

Anyways on the article... I used to pile up on GB & SNES games every summer (had a US SNES) and guess where I bought them... Toys r Us.

More exposure can only be good for Nintendo. Too bad the "hard core aisle" will have to close once they move nintendo to toys...

Oh and it's funny as it's the creator of virtual barbie who tries to insult nintnedo saying they should be in toys =) (not that nintendo had any part in popularizing simcity beyond the PC crowd...)

LOL nah, not really. Nintendo would just need something outside of the Pokemon and Mario image. Mature games on the system wouldn't be a bad thing to have. Oh and when I mean mature I do not refer to blood and gore, I mean more along the lines of Valkyria Chronicles, a proper Valkyrie Profile game, or for Zelda to come faster. Although I cannot really consider Zelda a mature game either simply because the story is too basic and the emotion is just not there. Metroid did a good job throughout except for the many mistakes they made in Other M.

Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)

I may be the next Maelstorm or not, you be the judge http://videogamesgrow.blogspot.com/  hopefully I can be more of an asset than a fanboy to VGC hehe.
