Forums - Gaming - Wii Has The Best Exclusives

As a big fan of Nintendo, I have to say:

Wii sucks. Seriously, the games are flat-out disappointing. Gamecube had an amazing lineup of great games, but outside of a select few titles, first and second party Nintendo games have fallen flat. That, plus their focus on boring "casual" games has really held the Wii back in my opinion.

I mean: Metroid games just don't match up to their GC siblings, no F-Zero or Starfox. I couldn't really get into Galaxy, no (true Wii) Zelda yet. Mario Kart was ok, SSBB great, but I just can't enjoy most of the Wii exclusives.

PS3, I have had much fun with. Much fun. My first Sony console, great purchase.

That's a rather very uneducated article. I'll leave it at that.

Btw No More Heroes is on the PS360.

Nope. Not in North America.

the game is being released on PS3 next month with Move functions, no longer exclusive

I think both my opinion and the media opinion are pointless (metascore means nothing). The only thing that has true value are sales numbers. The Wii has not only the best hardware sales, but the best software sales sales as well. And since software are the main factor of hardware sales the Wii has the best library of games (not only exclusives btw) of this gen according to the market, just like the PS2 had last gen.

by that logic, transformers & twilight r some of the best movies ever made, n mcdonalds food is the best

lol i love this argument against popular things haha, and its true, those brands that have the highest sales are the best because a large group of people are willing to pay for them. you can say obscure movie/book/food/video game is the best ever, but thats just your opinion. sales give a factual basis to make arguments from. take twilight, it is one of the best franchises for women readers/movie goers to live out their fantasy of being seduced by a handsome vampire and werewolf. it wouldnt sell so much if it didnt resonate with so many people, so it is one of the best stories at doing what it does.

so i guess Wii fit is the best franchise 4 women since it "helps" them lose weight, especially in the US where they have image issues??

I entirely agree that the Wii has the greatest exclusives of any home console this generation. I own a PS3, and don't get my wrong I quite like it and I enjoy playing LBP and am looking forward to TLG. Ironically, despite what people say about the Wii collecting dust, it is my PS3 which sits unused for weeks, sometimes months on end.

Exclusive wise, the PS3 really only has the LBP games and Valkyria Chonicles that interest me. On the other hand, the Wii has the likes of MH3, SSBB, TvC, Galaxy 1 and 2, NSMBWii, LKS, RF:Frontier amongst others. There are also no PS3 exclusives for the rest of the year that really interest me, constrast that with at least Xenoblade Chronicles and Zelda SS for the Wii.

I can see some people may disagree with that view, but I can't see why people are getting so fustrated by the thought of the Wii having the best exclusives.

I'd also say the Wii has the best exclusive lineup.

If I had to make a top 10 for all 3, I'd say almost all the PS3 and 360 games would be multiplats.

Furthermore, if I had to rank the top exclusives of all 3, few HD ones come to mind.

No Nintendo consoles sales declined because they ended up less appealing to non-Nintendo fans...
Nes/SNES had enough support, the N64 had already a decline in support but they had Rare games, the GC was the perfect example of only appealing to Nintendo fans the only game that made people envy GC owners was Melee at the end of the day.

If you had to name the one game, just one, that created the most Nintendo fans, then what would it be?

Don't really get why you ask me this question, but overall I think Super Mario Bros 3 was the game that turned the most people into Nintendo fans;

Good and popular are not mutually exclusive, as the film industry will certainly tell you. As a measurement of 'good' exclusive with the above critera, almost all the game mention in the OP has to be removed and in their placed, games like Wii Fit etc added.

I don't understand your point. I don't think I've said anything remotely like Wii exclusives are either good or popular, but never both at the same time.

Also, do you really think it would bug me to see the top five Wii exclusives being Wii Fit (Plus), Wii Sports (Resort), Mario Kart Wii, New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Super Smash Bros. Brawl? Well, the last one perhaps.

I think I am definitely missing something then.

Your post was in response to an another post that disagree with the original post which claim Wii exclusive are the best and provided a listed example.

Statement; We has the best exclusive

Disagreement; It's complete nonsense because (source: critical acclaim) says otherwise

Rebuttal; Not true since (source: sales evidence) clearly indicates Wii has the best exclusive, ergo sales ie popularity is the ultimate measure.

Finally there is me who dispute this by claiming that Wii does not have the best exclusive just because they sells more, popularity does not always define a 'good game' and vice versa. (Whether the Wii has the best game is not my dispute, I am arguing that measuring 'the best' shouldn't be through sales)

Well personally I agree but it depends on what do you mean for better exclusives. If you search for the highest number of good exlusives Ps3 is the best. If you search for top quality exclusives the Wii is the best. That my opinion naturally.

I can't believe you left Punch Out!! out. Shame on you.

maybe the wii has the most exclusive exclusives which i don't know and if i don't have a wii i can't play those games but if i don't own a ps3 or xbox360 i can't play the exclusives on this platforms plus all those games which aren't available on wii but on ps3 or 360.

bioshock, crysis, oblivion, fallout, read dead redemption, gta, mass effect, ghost recon and hundreds more...

so i don't care if wii has the most exclusives all from the same publisher because i have to own a ps3 or 360 to play the most great games. maybe wii has 5 top exclusives more than 360/ps3 but 360/ps3 have 100 top games more than wii has lol

sure wii has some great exclusives because it's nintendo with his mario/zelda/pokemon games every generation the same...
