Coincidence? ;)

X360 taking big plunges YoY. This is largely due to the new 360 S console being released close to this time last year. It used to be that X360 was up quite a bit from last year to this year, but I think this is going to flip very fast as the slim model from last year had some very large sales. Im sure X360 will be down YoY for a while until they do a price cut.

I wanna say his "coincidence?" was more of "coincidence that Kowen didn't do the YoY post because 360 is down so much YoY." It's subtle:)

It's stupid, you can't expect kowen to be on 24/7

And I thought InFamous 2 will get some massive sales due to the fact that pretty much millions got it's predecessor thanks to the PSN WelcomeBack Package. Now I even think it had near to zero impact at all.

I was expecting a similar effect but it seems to be lacking alittle although i never expected it to sell like games such as halo or uncharted i was hoping for more!

I got into this game though the welcome back package i would have expected the same from quite a few

Sad when OOT in Americas didn't sell as well as it did in Japan, considering Zelda isn't as hot in Japan. Neither did it move as many 3DS units,very close to where Japan hit. I hope Nintendo starts realizing that many still think this is an extension of the DS family and not a new system on its own.

This is 100% right.  As most know I work in gameing retail and this is the biggest problem for the 3DS right now is its marketing and the way it is seen by casual consumers.  Honestly 90% of the customers who ask me about the 3DS simply think its a minor upgrade like the DSi was and always say "I just got a DSi I don't need another upgrade."

Nintendo HAS to do a better job of makeing it clear to the consumer that this a brand new console and not just another DS redisign.  I think the name and makeing it look nearly identical to a DSi was a big mistake for Nintendo, they are directly competeing with themselves now because of it.

Maybe it's not true, but the fact that DS is down YoY way more than how 3DS is selling makes me think there are few people who think 3DS is a restyle and many are waiting for games or a smaller price to buy it. After all after DSi or DSi XL the sales of previous models still sold well, over 150k, while now we had a sharp decline in DS sales, sign that there's people not buying a DS because they KNOW 3DS is a new console and are waiting for a better time to buy it. Sure, it could even be Vita's effect, but I doubt it could be that big now...things could be more positive for Nintendo that we think if many potential DS buyers are in line for a 3DS in the future.

CURRENTLY PLAYING: Xenoblade (Wii), Super mario 3D land (3DS), Guild Wars (PC)

I can't understand the guys "disapointed" with inFAMOUS 2 sales because:

1. It is tracking over inFAMOUS;
2. There are digital sales at launch (I brought mine in PSN) * inFAMOUS receive digital sales after 1 year

wow this wasn't 360's week im scared because xbox is loosing in all area's japan is down 1k amercianz is down a bit and emmea is down a bit to while ps3 is down in emmea steady japan and quite up in amercianz and POKEMON!!! u beast

Whats to be scared about? The 360 is getting some killer titles soon, as is the PS3. Although the PS3 is sellling more WW, i don't see the gap getting much smaller.

I think it will kinda go back and forth. Even if the PS3 starting eclipsing the 360, so what? Sony fans have been enjoying 3rd place so far, it's only those fanboys that shove that" PS3>360 hurr durr" bull in your face, same for 360 fanboys. The next generation is just around the corner, enjoy the ride.

I don't think this will boost the initial sales, but I think it will help in sustaining legs for the game in the long run. You have to realize that most people who got inFamous 1 probably won't beat for sometime because they're not avid gamers. Once time passes and people beat it, then I think inFamous 2 will see small rises in weekly sales.
