They wouldn't need much power to do that, just think. The glasses would feature 2 screens, 1 for each eye (perfect for 3D), with a res up to 720p each one. If WiiU is able to show 2 images being one of them 1080p, the PS4 could stream 2x720p images with a bit more power.

While I do like the concept of virtual reality, I think we're still decades away from realizing it in the way that I (and I expect a lot of people) envision it. Simply wearing goggles is not enough to make something significantly more immersive than playing the same game on a screen, While the representation of videogames in terms of sight and sound have become very impressive now, we still lack any representation in smell, taste or touch; and the representation of ourselves in the digital world is very primitive.

Finally now its time to perfect it.
