Ugh, the business world sucks. They could have made much better games for the 3DS, but ya gotta go where you get paid to go I suppose.

and you should be able to easily see what they can do with more advanced hw too :) they have already shown better AR games than any found on 3ds, on the psv..

Yes, I am aware that the company makes good AR games (ignoring that fighting one apparently) that's why I said it is a shame they aren't free to work on the portable that suits them more.

And when you say any on the 3DS, I assume you're refing to the one that Nintendo gave out for free for no particular reason?

hmm not sure if you have seen the gameplay in action but reality Fighters is a very impressive AR game...and I disagree the one that will suit them would the one with more power and options, the PSV. heck the one with better cameras even lol

and I have no idea if they are free or not, but have seen countless vids on 3ds AR, nothing really impressive. If you have anything you think is very impressive pelase share, I sincerely would like to see it

Can't they let the studio prove themselves first? I know they want the studio for AR and all, but seriously, they are an unproven company, and  I think that Sony should wait to see how well Reality Fighters does.

We shall see whether this is a big score or not for Sony after they release at least 2 games.

Their first game on a Sony portable sold a solid .75 million in 2010 when many said the software market for that software platform was dead in the west. The game even sold to enthusiasts in America where the camera peripheral wasn't even officially released. I can't wait to see what they are capable of when they have real money for better artists. Were it not for the camera issues I was gonna grab it myself despite the terrible art. It looked interesting to me and I'm undercover hyped for reality fighter.

On a broader note I think that Sony capturing and growing small companies like this will be good for the exclusive content to their systems.

No, I haven't seen or heard anything of reality fighters other than what is in this thread. hence why I included apparently, because the consensus in this thread is that it's negative. I don't really care either way, I am not a fan of MK/Tekken/Street Fighter, so I doubt I personally would like Reality Fighters.

Why are you asking me to point out good AR games on the 3DS? My point is that there are no good AR games, despite the fact that there should be. The only attempts at AR I am aware of on the 3DS are the face invaders thing and some pokemon thing they released/announced at E3. Both of which are free, not really full games. I am surprised to find that you would take a minor horsepower bumb as more important than 3D for AR games, ie games that are attempting to offer virtual reality, regardless of your preference, I would certainly find games along the lines of invisimals more fun if they were given 3D and a decent graphics jump instead of staying 2d and getting a big graphics jump. Consequently, I think it a shame that this company will not have an opportunity to make a 3D AR game until the PSP3.

Actually this company's game have consistently sold well and made money for Sony.

Cool I guess, I'd rather they buy a small studio and slowly build them up. For all we know they could be the next Media Molecule, Naughty Dog or Insomniac, start off small and then with a decent backing they can continue to grow over the years.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

At first I was disappointed to hear they were buying a dev. that i hadnt heard of previously. On second consideration after learning more about them, i think this is a pretty smart choice. We know that the PSV will use AR in its games (hopefully extensively) so it seems natural to get a company that has extensive experience in utilising that format indicating that sony really are going to focus on the PSV as its own device. Not so interested in RF but excited for what they may come up with next.

They need to have more developers who work exclusive for their portable consoles. All their studios besides liek 1 works mostly on PS3
