Forums - Gaming - Can Apple do what Nintendont? 3D + Touchscreen

HTC released their 3D phone version recently and it's headache inducing. I believe that is due to the incompatibility between 3D and touchscreen that Nintendo had problem with.

Fast forward, iPad3 and the next iPhone5 are inmenent with Apple's incremental upgrades. Will they be able to combine the 2 tech when they are released next year?

things to try... put a finger on the 3DS screen as if it was a touchscreen to see if it is bothersome.

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

I don't think the problem is with it being a "touch screen" ...

With the screen orientation changes and the less stability of holding a device with one hand, the 3D effect is (probably) constantly popping in and out which I could see being quite annoying.

3D is dead and paralax screens half effective 2D resolution something Apple will never do.

Check out my hype threads: Cyberpunk, and The Witcher 3!

yeap i don't think apple will go 3D just yet.... first they are too cheap for that and second if they do you'll have a 1600 bucks price tag and the device won't be marketable... if they keep the track they have... they'll be one step behind everyone else as usual.... and make it look like they are 2 in front...

when is the next apple keynote btw???

I always enjoy watching these they are more hillarious than a bad E3 pressconference.... they have that ability to make old tech or it's "about time you integrate that to apple device" tech look like a brand new thing full of ingeniosity.... they should team up with commedy central...

Headache is the least of my worries. Let's assume and pretend that 3D is useful for few seconds... it drains the Battery way too fast.... especially for a cell phone... no one wants that.

well lg also has 3d capable phones and tablets that i believe were shown around the same time as the 3ds so it looks like something all phone manufacturers seem to be interested in :

There was a video of some prototype ipad with a 3D screen... however I think Nintendo is pretty smart and probably had good technical reasons why 3D touch wasn't a great idea.

However, technology always improves so you never really know what will be easily doable in the near future.

Yeah, that's the idea. Nintendo ran into a wall trying to make 3D+touchscreen combined. But tech advancing so fast, someone has to be able to do it before the Nintendo solves it themselves with 3DS2 in year 2019.

Apple don't tend to do things like that. They wait until technologies have been developed, then "improve" them and mark them up.
